Why am I writing about Chip Coffey? As my readers know, I have written several Paranormal Articles now, and among them have been a few of the "stars" and crew members of these shows. My readers also know my past experiences with the Paranormal. Chip Coffey truly strikes me as genuine, and I do not say that about many Psychics. Chip Coffey and I also have a lot in common, as I have found in my research.
Besides all of that, I find Chip Coffey worthy of an Article and my time. I also feel that there are many people interested in the man, his gifts, and his life
UPDATE 03-29-10
I continue to try to contact Chip Coffey for an informal interview. If he has seen this lens at all, he knows that many of you appeal to him directly. I would think he would like to address that. I can understand his being hesitant to do interviews, but this is a squidoo lens and I am a Rocket Mom for goodness sake! What does he think I am going to do--stalk him?
I still like Chip Coffey's persona and overall, I believe in what he is doing. Here's hoping he grants his fans a little information.
UPDATE 10/13/10- I hear tell that Chip googles his name to find anything written about him, so he no doubt has seen this lens. He also vocally scolds any articles on him that he disapproves of. I am going to assume that Mr. Coffey does not oppose to this lens although I would still LOVE just a short, informal (and respectful) interview with him. Thanks Chip Coffey!

Chip was born in Upstate NY, raised in SC, and now lives in the burbs of Atlanta Georgia. He is the Great-Grandson of Cherokee Medicine Woman Minnie Sue Marrow Foster (It should be noted that no mention is made of Minnie Sue Marrow Foster in Google, other than by Chip Coffey's references.
Chip Volunteers in several Hospice organizations including Hospice Atlanta and The Twilight Brigade/Compassion in Action.
Chip Coffey will appeared at the 2008 Hauntedcon, in Phoenix, Arizona Sept 26-28.

Because no one can EVER agree
Chip Coffey is hailed by some, and denounced by others. As with any person, or any profession for that matter, Coffey comes under fire in several arenas. In one forum I read, there was some issues discussed, but the insults ran rampant. The majority of the mocking comments were obviously homophobic. Apparently the moderators didn't like Chip Coffey's appearance either. A Mister Brian Thompson seems to have some definite issues. You can read what he posts HERE For the record, does it MATTER if Coffey is gay or not? I wouldn't think that has anything to do with him as a psychic, or a person!On the flip side, I found a blogger who is a skeptic, a native American, and seems to put the Nay-Sayers in their place. I know what its like to really really feel something that you can not explain to anyone i have since i was a young girl but i never let anyone know what i see or feel hear or sense. I hope that he is real sometimes when i see him on tv i get a sense that he has a great soul but i am in australia so because i get the show tape i get confused on what i am sensing but i really like him he has great show presence as does ryan.

Paranormal Kids
Helping or Hurting
The saving grace of the show, for me, is that they do teach the kids how to empower themselves. Hopefully, although they cannot personally follow up on all of these kids, they do recommend some good further guidance and help for them.

ok how would deal with a ghost if you were a kid and not one person believed in you even your parents, feel alone. chip empowers you and helps to over come and gets people to realize this stuff is real and I admire that in a man he is great and thank god these people have some one like chip helping them for any pone who does not believe get a life. Harm, to the credibility of real psychics, and possibly to some of these kids. I believe in psychic ability and that some of these kids could actually be psychic. The show doesn't really do much to help the kids, to sort the reality from the fantasy, etc. Basically it encourages psychological role playing, not real help or training.

I read Sylvia Browne's book "Psychic Children". According to her, kids are more psychic than we think. Too sad that psychic ability is usually misunderstood as mental illness. I am glad I came across this book called "The ESP Enigma: The Scientific Case for Psychic Phenomena" . It has a lot of impressive researches that gave credits to people who are truly psychic.

- Psychic Kids is great for kids who do not have anywhere else to turn to. It provides them an avenue where they feel that they are accepted and it also provides an outlet for expression. However, for normal kids with no special abilities and power, I think it is best to stick to Glee.

- Having been in one of the A&E shows, I feel I must caution that it takes about 24 hours of taping to get the one hour show, less commercials. Editing can present information in many different ways and make things appear to happen in ways differently than they actually do.
