Chip has downplayed the theater part of his life now, and I don't blame him for that: as a very public professional psychic, he attracts a lot of ugly trolling on the internet. When the attention about Paranormal State and his subsequent show, Psychic Kids, picked up, some tried to make a nasty lot of him having been involved with acting, as if being an actor automatically makes him a fraud. No.

Working in theater is a job like anything else, and he was good at what he did. As I saw in his work with the children's theater, his good sense of children and how to treat them well is why the show Psychic Kids has attracted so many fans.

Many people don't realize that, just as with any other gifted child, children with psychic gifts often do not know where to turn for help and understanding. They feel more comfortable when they are with someone who can look them in the eye and talk to them calmly, patiently and with interest. I've watched Chip calm a frightened child quickly, quietly, and with just the right touch - softly drawing the child away from the fear into talking about what the child loves.

It was Chip's work with children that drew me to the task of moderating his discussion group, where many people come to ask for help in dealing with paranormal activites and psychic abilities. Other than having psychic ability in common we both understand the need for psychic responsibility.

Interestingly, we also have another thing in common - in spite of lifelong psychic abilities, we both found our abilities really begin to kick in during the summer of 2001. He began concentrating more on his professional psychic work at that time. I began the growth that would eventually lead me into teaching about reincarnation and psychic ability. Is this part of a general growth in psychic awareness? Sometimes I wonder, as we each encounter so many other psychically aware and gifted people.

Chip has done much to increase this awareness in the psychic realm, and I am glad to be a part of the growing group of fans who love him. I am looking forward to the third season of Psychic Kids as it makes its debut on Sunday October 17 on A & E at 10 pm.

Since I began being moderator for Chip's discussion group, I have gotten used to watching a man constantly on the go, yet able to make time to connect with people.
