RE-USE: The forgotten R in the Recycling Loop

The Most important leg in the Recycling logo.
Everyone knows Recycle and Reduce, but everyone forgets Reuse.

In today's throw it away society, its hard to be green. Reuse allows you to help the environment by NOT creating new products to fill our ecosphere, by NOT creating all the waste byproducts of a new product, by NOT adding to the mess we already have.

How can *I* Reuse products?

It's simple really, in some ways you already do. Your car for instance, you don't throw it away when you get a broken tail light, or a busted fender, you get it fixed, you get the part replaced so you can "re-use" the vehicle.

How else?

How about your old cell phone, if it still works, did you know that it can always dial 911 for an emergency, even when you DON'T have a service contract? Older but still working cell phones are great for halfway house, homeless shelters, battered / abused persons shelters. Help them protect their clients and allow them to reuse your phone.

How else can I Reuse?

Many many ways. Do you need a printer for your business or home? But your problem is that YOUR printer no longer works? Well, you can buy a refilled ink or toner cartridge. Did your power supply die or did you lose your cord? Reuse your printer by finding all of those items on the web. (Or in my eBay store) When you buy the refilled cartridge, you are helping the environment be preventing that cartridge from going to the landfill in the first place. When you buy the replacement ac adapter power supply, or just simply the cord, you are preventing new product from having to be produced in the first place.

By spending a little, you can get a lot. At the very least, you have saved yourself the price of a new printer, and you have saved the planet from having to deal with disposing of the new printer when IT eventually dies.

By buying reused / refurbished / recycled electronics and computer items, you can keep YOUR business or personal expenses down, allowing you to better use your money for The Most important leg in the Recy
