From the lens CHI, QIGONG; MASTERING THE FORCE .

Has anyone out there tried the experiment to see their own qi? Has anyone out there met Sifu Yeung? Has anyone out there had any other experiences with qigong teachers who instructs others in this type of energy work? Or, hey... does anyone out there like this lens and just wants to say hi? ^_~

I've been doing energy work for 20 years and am a Reiki master so I often allow the Ki to move my body when I'm doing healing work. I think people think that if they let go of their bodies they're going to do crazy things but for the most part it's a very gentle movement. Sometimes when a big block lets loose there is intense shaking or repetitive movement.

Wish I could give this lens a double blessing but I can only do one. :)

I often see qigong performing on TV and hear about it before, however, I never have the chance to try it!

The West is so obsessed with the fiction of mind-body dualism, that there is stubborn resistance to these teachings. The lack of scientific verification is merely a temporary lack of appropriate instrumentation. The effects of controlling qi are easily observed. I remember seeing old gentlemen whose years had probably outdistanced their weight in pounds gliding down the sidewalks of Chinatown leaving no doubt in my mind that they could -- if provoked -- kick my ass without breaking stride. Simply amazing.

Wow man, you lens is awesome. I am a fan of Dragon Ball Z and started to collect a lot of learning material about qigong. Great stuff. I remember that episode with Goku.
I hope I make time to learn and practice qigong every day for 2 hours. If you have time check out the great stuff I have on my lens.
Wish you peace and love beyond all understanding,
    Florin

Religion? Interesting. Superstition? If I'm not mistaken, a superstition is a belief which has absolutely no basis in fact. Mmm, perhaps in the west it is seen that way, but here in the east it is a science that is studied and worked with. Thank you, by the way, for your warm welcome! ^_^ And I must say that I love your 100 strangers lens - 5*! ^_~

I consider this more of a philosophy, religion, or superstition than a science.
But at any rate, this idea is prevalent in Chinese culture and therefore I warmly welcome you to the Learning About China group.
