HERE'S WHAT I THINK

Chiropractors: Savior of the back

I've had back pain for years and years which is really sad considering that I'm about to turn 32. I saw a chiropractor for a full year once a week about 4 years ago. I've never felt so good. Due to some changes with insurance I stopped going. In the time between then and now my back has continued to head downhill. I found out 3 years ago I had a Degenerative Disk Disorder and that my lowest disk was shot. Last year I found out that the next disk was also done in, and had actually fractured and was putting pressure on the S1 nerve running down my right leg. Long story shorter, a surgeon had to remove the fractured piece of the disk in order to give me comfort. Since then I haven't had as much pain, but it was still there nagging. 4 months ago I started seeing another chiropractor, but 2 times a week this time. After taking x-rays they showed me that I have no curve in my neck or lumbar, something that no other doctor had ever pointed out. In 4 months the pain that I was feeling has definitely subsided. I still have pain from time to time, but I know that my spine and neck are adjusting into the proper positions and can feel that this pain is different.
From my experiences, Good Chiropractors are saviors of the back!

The body of research is growing that shows how removal of nerve interference allows the body to heal itself. What was intuitive is being backed up by hard science, especially for those chiropractors who stick to a subluxation based philosophy. Read more here: http://www.sherman.edu/edu/research/news.asp

Glad to hear of your positive response, and also think that it's nice to have a forum for discussion. Although some are concerned about risks, the evidence for bad outcomes is staggeringly low, somewhere between 1:million, and 1:11million. Thanks for posting my video, I am grateful that it has opened a dialogue.

No way, Monkeybrain!

Skeeeeeetz says:

They may make you feel better but they should make their patients aware of the risks of injury as the result of chiropractic treatment. I was being treated last year by a good chiropractor but a neck manipulation resulted in a stroke.
