To Me

Pretty arrogant isn't it. I mean the nerve, right?
Basically this site is for those who are turning 50. I did last year, and I am here to tell you, you will be fine. Also, that you will find some great party, and gift ideas for that special day.

I made it, I guess I can say that, there are still issues I'm discussing with my therapist. Okay, now I'm kidding, kind of. Just ask my Husband, he'll tell you I'm a little out there. He's really going to freak when he takes a look at my Birthday wish list. I love you Tom!

Turning 50

TURNING 50,
a poem by Lisa Anne Macmaster from Canada

Turning Fifty's not such a bad thing,
After all take a look at what your life had to bring.

You've laughed a lot and cried a little too,
And of the hard times, I'm sure there were few!

You've fallen and stood right back up on your feet,
and many good people you've had the pleasure to meet.

You've worked very hard and played a lot too,
There's not too many tythat can do what you do.

There are so many people around you that care,
and hope at your one hundredth, they will be there.

In your first fifty years you've done some incredible things,
But I can't wait to see what the next fifty brings!

My Wish List

October 17

UPDATE

Although I didn't get anything on my list, my darling Husband gave me this Your Scent Your Signature my new business venture, and I absolutely love it! Come check it out.

1. 2=Tickets (for my Daughter and I) to see an Oprah Show.

2. No playoff tickets for my Husband and I now.

3. Shopping Spree (just me).

They say you can get anything you want just by knowing five people. Okay, so my first question is, "who are they?" And how do they know? My birthday wish list is pretty tough, and if I knew the right five people I would not be begging on the internet right now. But I am hardly proud, so hopefully the right five people will see my list.

Gosh, this is a very hard decision, I mean what is number one on my list? Being at the Oprah Show, or cubs playoff tickets? I mean, Oprah will eventually retire. Then again, the Cubs haven't won a World Series since 1908, I mean Hellooooooooo! After tonight's loss all I can say is, "wait till next year!"

Tickets to a Chicago Cubs playoff game, all I can say is, "Holy Cow!" I've been to Wrigley Field many times, but I think to watch such an important game, would be one of the best Birthdays ever!

Okay, so tell me, what girl wouldn't want a shopping spree? You must remember I'm a midwest girl, so $100.00 spree would be lovely. But if anyone thinks it should be more, just email me, we'll talk!

So many of you who are reading this, may believe I have lost my mind. Perhaps you're right. But, as Maya Angelou said;

"Ask for what you want and be prepared to get it."

I'm Prepared!

Tom have you seen my list? I know you want to go to a playoff game as well. Here's hoping!!!

"I'll keep you posted, if I find the right 5 people. Heck I will do a thank you page in honor of them. Because it sure would be an honor!"

Progress Report

Update.

I have spent the last three days trying to get tickets from the Oprah Show. They opened the lines on Tuesday, but no luck. Constantly redialing to no avail. But I have faith, I will get to see a show. 10/14/2008, still haven't gotten through, YIKES!

No Cubs tickets either, gee I wonder why? Maybe because they're out of it!

And the shopping spree, well no takers on that yet either.

I'm still asking for what I want, and I am totally prepared to get it!

Kathy Ireland;

A compliment is a gift. It's not relevant that you may not agree with the giver's opinion of you. In some ways the compliment is not even about you; it's about the fact that someone else cared enough to think of you and to share his or her thoughts in a positive way. So the best way to handle one? With a heartfelt "thank you."

Look the person straight in the eye and say "I'm sorry." Don't embellish it by making excuses or trying to explain why you screwed up. Just ask for forgiveness.

Turning 50 used to sound terrible... before I was 54! Anyway, I survived and I am proud to be one of the baby boomer generation. Great ideas on your lens. I will keep them in mind when my "young" friends turn 50.
