Welcome To Chloe's Corner

To be that young again.  No thanks, not on your life!  Let's move forward about 33 years.  Ouch!  Wait a minute, let me think about that.

Seriously, I want to thank you for visiting my Lensography.  Here you will see the work I have done since becoming a Lensmaster on Squidoo.  Also a chance to take a small peek at my world.  Or should I say my corner?

As I sit here wondering what I can say that would best describe my feelings about this woman, my mother. Whom I deeply love. I'm at a loss. To share too much, would invade a private bond. To share too little, and you will miss a remarkable person. I will tell you, we have been left weak by heartbreaking sorrow. When she lost her partner of 33 years. Yes my father. Yet we have cried tears of overwhelming joy. The births of our healthy children God has blessed us with. We have laughed and made fools our ourselves. That my friends can ease the pain, if only for a moment. I thank the Lord above that she's still here. I love you mom.

My dad, wow. He was born in 1918, and as we know, things were much different then. He went through his 8th grade year of school. Never missed one day. Due to the financial struggles his family faced. He had to quit school and get a job. It wasn't until he was in his late sixties, and became ill. He would have never missed one day of work either. He was quiet, my mom was loud. They were perfect. I will see him again. He's saving a spot for me in our Father's house.
I love you. I miss you.

Chloe's Wonderful Life

See, I could have used this picture and scared the tar out of you! The only girl growing up with four of the meanest, ugliest brothers you can imagine. Oh how they would teased me. I'm not sure why they gave me so much grief. I would simply mention to mom, or dad, that they were bothering me. And before you knew it, off came the belt. Gosh, If they would have just listened. All their problems would have been gone. Between me and you, I think they wanted me gone. Go figure?

Ya, look at the little hoodlums smiling. See how a couple of them have there hands on my shoulders. It's like they were afraid I was going to do something. Granny always said they were nothing but trouble. Words of the wise.
My Granny, oh how I miss her. Born in Villa Ridge, Illinois. It's at the southern tip. I wish I had a better picture. But, this is still one of my favorites. The day we brought our daughter home from the hospital. If you look closely, she's wearing her little Viking sleeper. I ask you what mother would bring her little girl home in that? Me!

Aunt Sharon, Cassie and Granny

She had ten children and raised them by herself. She lost one of her sons when he was only nine months old. Her oldest, my Aunt Ramona, was in a car accident when she was 17, and broke her neck. Out of the four people in the car, she was the only one hurt. She was also the only one who hadn't been drinking. She wasn't put in a home for the handicapped. No, Granny wouldn't allow that. Until the day Granny died, she alone took care of her. Although my Aunt never walked again. She did however, manage her own telephone answering service for many years. And she is now cared for by my Uncle Bob, and Aunt Pam. When she moved into their home, my Uncle had spent many days making it look just like the room she had. It was amazing. You won't catch me saying anything bad about him. He's also the Pastor of our church. Him and the Big Guys pretty tight.

I think it's time to take a look at a few lenses.

His Mine Ours

Meet The Gang

Rebecca the intelligent one, Cassie the artistic one, me the crazy one, Cory my pride and joy, Tom my heart, Chaz the next Jim Carrey, and Art our dear friend.

After my ex-husband and I divorced. The children and I were on our own for almost 12 years. Then, as I said earlier. I met my Knight in a shining red jeep. Tom was like no other man I had met before. Kind, caring, attentive. I thought, "there has got to be something wrong with him? Let me share just a tad about this incredible man. He had asked permission from my mother, before he asked me to marry him. To put it bluntly, "I ain't no spring chicken." Chivalry isn't dead! He would also win the award for "most flowers sent." It's to the point of embarrassing, if that's possible? My supervisor told me when she brought me the last beautiful bouquet, "you get more flowers than a dead person at a funeral." What?
After almost four years of marriage. We are not without struggles. Neither was his parents or mine. We are growing together in spite of them.
He's quiet, I'm loud. We're perfect.

It's Been a Pleasure

Squidoo has given me a wonderful opportunity. A place where I can share my passions, and the things I love.

A showcase of the areas in my life I am most proud of. And I am sincerely grateful.

It is my wish that you have smiled a time or two during your visit. Maybe even hugged someone dear to you, a little tighter. Yes, that is my wish for you.

God bless,
Chloe

This 2-months-old squiddle is getting more amazed every day by the quality of this (Squidoo) community. You are a great example, Chloe, for the amount of intelligence, creativity and originality to be found here. Your lenses are well-researched, indeed, and so very interesting in their wide range of subjects and topics. Your personal story is heart-warming. What a great gal you are!
