Botswana: Big Game Safari Vacation Destination
Chobe National Park in Botswana is one of the best places in Africa to enjoy a safari and see "The Big Five". It is less touristy than some other countries in Africa and you certainly feel like an intrepid explorer rather than just another tourist.
Chobe is an excellent place for a camping and walking safari as well as the more standard safari in a Jeep, staying lodges. For a completely different wildlife viewing experience the near-by The Okavango Delta is another must-see attraction in Botswana.

Chobe
Chobe National Park is very different to The Okavango Delta, the other big attraction in Botswana. It is a very dry environment, but with far more of the big game traditionally associated with safari, than its beautiful watery neighbour.

Getting to Chobe National Park, Botswana
One route to the Okavango Delta is via Frankfurt in Germany. I flew from London to Windhoek in Namibia via Frankfurt, spending a pleasant night in Windhoek.
The following morning I flew to Maun in Botswana and flew in a Cessna low over the beautiful scenery and startled animals towards the Okavango Delta then from there, on to Chobe National Park.

The rest of the journey was by four-wheel-drive and various boats.
