Chocolate Chip Pie
Ranked #17,602 in Food & Cooking, #311,145 overall
Do you need an extra yummy desert for a special occasion? A chocolate chip pie is a scrumptious, chocolate-y desert that is very rich and yummy to eat. This would make an extra special treat for Christmas, Thanksgiving, 4th of July, a birthday or even Easter. The chocolate chip pie tastes especially good warmed up, but it is also wonderful served at room temperature. It tastes good with either whipped cream or ice cream, but sometimes I prefer to just eat the chocolate chip pie warmed up and plain.
The Ingredients
· 1 unbaked 9-inch pie shell
· 2 large eggs
· 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
· 1/2 cup granulated sugar
· 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
· 3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) butter, softened
· 1 cup chocolate chips
· 1 cup chopped walnuts
· 2 large eggs
· 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
· 1/2 cup granulated sugar
· 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
· 3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) butter, softened
· 1 cup chocolate chips
· 1 cup chopped walnuts
Steps
1. Preheat oven to 325° F.
2. Beat eggs with a mixer in a large mixing bowl on high speed until it is foamy. Beat in the flour, the granulated sugar and the brown sugar. Make sure they are well blended. Then beat in the butter.
3. Stir in with a spoon, the chocolate chips and the walnuts. Pour the mixture into a 9" pie crust. You can spoon the mixture into the pie crust instead if it is easier for you.
4. Bake for 55 to 60 minutes. Check if it is done by inserting a knife halfway between edge and center and see if it comes out clean. Cool on wire rack.
It should be a nice dark, golden color on top when done baking.

- I think I gained weight just from looking at this! Sounds yummy - I want to make it as soon as the weather turns cool enough to bake (yes, it's 90 degrees in Colorado in October...)
