Chocolate Chess Pie
Get ready for a chocolate moment!
- Serves: 8-12
- Prep Time: 5-10 minutes
- Total Time: 45 minutes
Ingredients
- 1 stick butter
- 2 squares baker's chocolate (semi-sweet)
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- beaten
- 1 tsp vanilla
- Dash of salt
- 9" unbaked pie crust
Instructions
In a saucepan, melt the butter and chocolate over a low flame.
While that's melting, blend together the sugar, eggs, vanilla and salt.
Once the chocolate and butter are melted, add in the other ingredients s-l-o-w-l-y so you don't scramble the eggs. Mix well.
Pour into unbaked pie shell and bake in the oven for 35 minutes at 350F. Note: I like to use the Pillsbury refrigerated pie crusts but, if you want to make this chocolate dessert recipe even easier, use one of the frozen pie crusts.
Once baked, the center of your delicious Chocolate Chess pie should be a bit gooey when you insert a toothpick. And, don't be alarmed if the top cracks as it cools - that's what it's supposed to do.
