Chocolate Ice Cream Ingredients
Gather these ingredients to make Chocolate Ice Cream Recipe
Ingredients:* 4 ounces unsweetened chocolate, chopped
* 2 cups half & half or evaporated milk
* 1 1/4 cups sugar
* 2 tbsp. flour
* 1/4 teaspoon salt
* 3 eggs
* 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
* 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
* 1/2 cup chopped nuts, optional
How to make Chocolate Ice Cream
Follow these simple instructions for Chocolate Ice Cream Recipe
2) Cook over moderate heat until chocolate is melted and mixture is smooth (about 5 minutes).
3) In small bowl, combine sugar, flour and salt.
4) Gradually whisk dry ingredients into the melted chocolate mixture and bring to boil.
5) Reduce heat to moderately low and cook, whisking occasionally.
6) In medium bowl, whisk eggs briefly.
7) Slowly whisk in half of the hot chocolate mixture then transfer this mixture to the remaining chocolate in saucepan.
8) Cook about 5 minutes, until thick, smooth, and steaming.
9) Remove from heat and stir in heavy cream and vanilla.
10) Let cool to room temperature then chill until cold.
11) Pour into ice cream maker and freeze.
12) Transfer to container and freeze at least 30 minutes before serving.
