Delicious Chocolate Mousse Recipe
Welcome! If you're a chocolate mousse lover and are looking for a simple but delicious way to make it, you won't be disappointed with this recipe. Chocolate mousse is a favorite with most chocoholics, myself included, and though some think it's difficult to make, it really isn't. Mousse, which means "foam", originated in France in the 18th century and was first popular in the US in 1892, so it took a while to make it's way "across the pond", but Americans have certainly embraced it. Early recipes resembled a more pudding-like consistency, but with the addition of beaten egg whites it has morphed into the mousse we have come to know and love.
No matter how you make it, and there are many variations to choose from, the main ingredients are always the same: chocolate, egg whites, and sugar. For the purposes of this recipe, to keep it really simple, we use semi-sweet chocolate morsels, but if you want a truly spectacular mousse you should use the best chocolate you can. The better the chocolate, the better the mousse.

- Very nicely done. I love chocolate mousse and have many different recipes for it, but have never made it with brown sugar. It seems to me that it would put too much of an earthy-molasses flavor into the mousse that IMHO should be a very fluffy light cloud of a chocolate dessert. I will have to try this to see.
