What Wikipedia Has to Say...
Pure, unsweetened chocolate contains primarily cocoa solids and cocoa butter in varying proportions. Much of the chocolate consumed today is in the form of sweet chocolate, combining chocolate with sugar. Milk chocolate is sweet chocolate that additionally contains milk powder or condensed milk. "White chocolate" contains cocoa butter, sugar, and milk but no cocoa solids (and thus does not qualify to be considered true chocolate). Chocolate contains alkaloids such as theobromine and phenethylamine, which have some physiological effects in humans, but the presence of theobromine renders it toxi...

I love warm dark chocolate the best. Flourless chocolate cake is really awesome. And having chocolate everyday is absolutely worth the fat, calories, and sugar! :)

I absolutely adore milk chocolate especially if it's fruit and nut or wholenut. I would happily live on chocolate if my waistline could handle it (which sadly is never going to happen)but even just a sniff is enough to cheer me up. I'm sure doctors would have a much easier life if they could prescribe chocolate instead of pills, it has a much quicker effect than any antidepressant and is probably a lot cheaper!

Chocolate is brilliant. Even if it was bad for me, I would eat it because it rocks. It may an aquired taste, but if the Aztecs could eat it without sweeting, so can I.

Can't live without it. One of the pleasures in life is eating, and I love eating chocolate. Also, when I'm feeling sick to my stomach, it has a soothing reaction.

I couldn't agree more. As I get older I am developing a taste for dark chocolate. Like a good coffee or a fine Cabernet, I think you can taste the difference in a good quality chocolate, which doesn't necessarily have to be expensive.

About Cocoa Beans
Cocoa is the dried and fully fermented fatty seed of the cacao tree from which chocolate is made. "Cocoa" can often also refer to the drink commonly known as hot chocolate; cocoa powder, the dry powder made by grinding cocoa seeds and removing the cocoa butter from the dark, bitter cocoa solids; or it may refer to the combination of both cocoa powder and cocoa butter together.Sorting Out Chocolate - Fine Cooking Article
A cacao pod has a rough leathery rind about 3 cm thick (this varies with the origin and variety of pod). It is filled with sweet, mucilaginous pulp called 'baba de cacao' in South America, enclosing 30 to 50 large almond-like seeds (beans) that are fairly soft and pinkish or purplish in color.
Cocoa should not be confused with the coca plant which can be used to create cocaine.
Yummm!
