I've devoured two boxes of Espresso Sea Salt Caramel truffles and other varieties as well, but I have never had the pleasure of cooking the fungal version. Must remedy that.

Excellent post! That mushroom and truffle oil macaroni and cheese looks amazing. I love to try new recipes all the time, but somehow this one slipped through the cracks. Can't wait to try the "homemade" version...wish me luck!

By the way, if I can't find ingredients locally for recipes like fresh truffles or truffle oils, I like to shop at http://www.blackstargourmet.com.

    Chocolate truffles I am for.
    Real truffles, I'm not sure!

But I do like your lens and it is being featured under 'T is for Tomatoes and Truffles' in the Culinary Favorites from A to Z group.

I always wondered which came first... and both are favorites! Delightfully delicious lens (I must order some of Chef Keem's espresso sea salt caramel truffles!) Welcome to Culinary Favorites From A to Z.

I love chocolate truffles. I will have to try out you recipe. I've never made them myself before. Also truffle oil is great for adding flavor. I often add it to shrimp scampi after I finish cooking it.

Okay, you got me--The Goonies is one of my favorites. I just can't help myself. Love the Truffle Shuffle! And I'd like some truffles AND some truffles, please :)

Thanks for clearing this up for me in such detail. I knew there were chocolate truffles and mushrooms called truffles but I always wondered how they got the same names. A big 5 stars.

W00t! I'm so glad that you decided to educate the general public about truffles. I've been selling chocolate truffles for years at the farmers market, and I've noticed the confusion with this term, over and over again. Now I can point everyone to this lens for a quick "truffle class". To be honest, I've learned a few new things about the "earthy version" myself. Great lens, RG! 5*s and a SquidAngel Blessing. (I appreciate your display of my Espresso Sea Salt Caramel Truffles. They really ARE quite good...mpf!)
