Do you need to reform?
Being a chocoholic is a much easier title to live with than some of the other vices. I don't feel any shame in admitting it and it doesn't have any serious side effect on me. But still I have grown up with the idea that I need to limit my intake of chocolate. It is, after all, a candy. People get cavities from this type of food and it makes you gain weight and your skin breaks out and the list goes on. So I have always felt guilty about eating chocolate at least to some degree.
Imagine my delight and surprise when I recently discovered a chocolate that I can eat without having all these feelings. Sure, I've been reading the articles (with great interest) about how healthy dark chocolate is supposed to be for you. But there was one little problem. I don't like dark chocolate. I like the milky, sweet kind. I tried to like dark chocolate, I really did. I bought the organic Newmans chocolate in the check out line and tried a couple of other ones. But to me, they all tasted like medicine. Ok, not quite that bad, but it was not a pleasant experience to eat them. Too healthy tasting. Not sweet enough. I gave up and went back to my M & Ms and Toblerone.
Until ~
... one day last fall when a friend introduced me to their healthy chocolate. It's a chocolate that is only sold through direct sales distributors. I was skeptical when I found out it was a dark chocolate, but I gave it a try and discovered that it was really tasty. Unbelievable. In fact, as time goes on, I am learning that I can hardly tolerate my old chocolates any longer. They just don't taste right. It seems like I can taste all the extra junk they put in there.
So I am happy to say that I can now eat chocolate without feeling guilty about it and I don't have to reform. What a feeling of bliss that is. Which is one of the reasons why I named my website www.ChocolateBliss.biz If you go check it out ~ I might even send you a free sample!
Local Chiropractor Impressed with Chocolate
Healthy Chocolate Testing
One of my friends volunteered to be one of his subjects and the results are back. This man is not easily impressed and with these results he was.
The two people who the tests were conducted on had slightly different results. One (my friend) had been on a strict diet previous to the chocolate test and done a very serious cleanse. The other lady was "On" the chocolate for 3 weeks between the tests. She is in her 60s and average health. Both of them experienced lower blood pressure and cholesterol levels.
The tests were definitely conclusive. Every single area that the blood test evaluated was improved after eating the chocolate. But all I need is to know that this chiropractor, whom people drive 80 miles round trip to see, is impressed with the results.
As for me, I do not eat the chocolate as consistently as I should, and still I have seen good results! It definitely suppresses my appetite. I have lost 5+ pounds in the last several months. I don't know if it is from eating the chocolate, but I do know that I had hit a plateau for the past 8 years and couldn't seem to get past that point, and now I have passed it. Coincidence? You decide. I am not one to go to doctors, so I don't really know what my blood pressure was before I began to eat healthy chocolate or what it is now, so I can't give testimony to that. My gums are improving too.
I did have a friend who is in her early 20s tell me that she was surprised that she didn't break out when eating this chocolate like she usually does when she eats chocolate.
As time goes on, I will add more testimonies. Maybe some audio or videos of people I know.
