Dove Chocolate Martini Mix Secrets

On Saturday March 7th we will be at the Chocolate Festival at the Convention Center in Rehoboth Beach Delaware. Carrie and I plan on entering several desserts in the annual contest.

We will be entering a non-alcoholic Chocolate Martini featuring Dove Chocolate Martini Mix as the key ingredient. Our customers love it and we can't wait to find out the reaction of the judges and attendee's at the event.

The annual festival is co-sponsored by Rehoboth Beach Main Street and the Friends of the Rehoboth Beach Public Library. Tastings start at 11:30 am and last until the chocolate runs out or 3:30 pm. Admission is only $2.00 and you can buy as many tastes as you like! it's all you can eat! Children under 5 get in for free. For those who desire lunch in between chocolate appetizers and desserts, Main Street will provide All-American hot dogs and drinks. It's a day of fun for the whole family!

Choclatini recipes have been around for awhile thanks to the nice folks at Godiva Chocolate Liquor. And to be honest, lots of people love Chocolate Martinis made with Godiva but Dove Chocolate Discoveries new Martini Mix has taken Chocolatini's to the next level...

1. Easy to Drink! Unlike other Chocolate Martinis...Dove Martini's won't leave you feeling "hammered" halfway through your drink. Our Martini Mix is non-alcoholic. You add as much or as little Vodka as you wish.

2. Versatile! Start with the Basic Recipe using your favorite Vodka or try a flavored Vodka...like Orange, Espresso or Vanilla. Try adding Banana or Peppermint Schnapps. Or how about Bailey's or Kahlua? The combinations are unlimited.

You can't go wrong with this recipe! I think that it is perfect just as it is....but you can always adjust the Vodka portion to make it stronger or weaker. The same goes for the Milk or the Dove Martini Mix.

3 parts Dove Martini Mix
3 parts Milk or Half n Half
2 parts Vanilla or Espresso Vodka

Shake with Ice
Strain into glass.

Thin Mint Martini

1 ½ oz DOVE Chocolate Martini Mix
1 ½ oz Dark Crème de Cacao
1 oz Vanilla Vodka
1 ½ oz Half 'n Half

Creamsicle Martini

1 or 2 oz Mandarin Orange Vodka
2 oz Dove Martini Mix
1 oz Bailey's Irish Cream
1 or 2 oz Milk/Half n Half/Cream

Ingredients:

Salad:
1 bag spring mix/mesclun greens,
Your favorite mixed vegetables/herbs, (shredded carrots, sliced mushrooms, onions, cherry tomatoes, yellow peppers, basil, dill, etc)
¼ cup walnuts, toasted,
¼ cup feta cheese, crumbles,
¼ cup chocolate balsamic vinaigrette, recipe follows,
Shredded chocolate to garnish, optional

Chocolate-Balsamic Vinaigrette
1 cup of your favorite store-bought balsamic vinaigrette,
1/2 cup Dove Chocolate Martini Mix**
**Mix the dressing with more or less Dove Mix to suit your own taste.

Preparation:
In a large bowl, combine the sprint mix/mesclun greens with the mixed vegetables/herbs, walnuts, and feta cheese. Slowly pour in the chocolate balsamic vinaigrette, and toss lightly. Serve with a garnish of crumbled feta cheese and shredded chocolate, if desired.

Chocolate-Balsamic Vinaigrette
In medium bowl, whisk together balsamic vinaigrette and Dove Chocolate Martini Mix. Pour into a sealable container and store in the refrigerator.
