Statin Drug Therapy Litters Lives With Sickness

Memory loss was the first sign.

Ever-youthful and sharp, it seemed like overnight, my mother withered into an "old" woman upon beginning her prescription for statin drugs [along with the 27 Other odd pills she takes!].
After reading and researching, I presented her doctor with my concerns only to be "pooh-poohed" off.  His words?  "What's a little memory loss compared to the damages a stroke would cause?"    [Clearly this wasn't His mom we were discussing, right?!]

For my husband, the effects were quite different.
No more than a week after taking Lipitor, he was laid up in bed with what we assumed was a wicked case of the flu.  His muscles tormented him with each movement.  The pain seemed to never end.  In the process of caring for his needs, I happened to read his pill information and found, among the side effects, "muscle aches".

The discussion was brief.  He stopped taking them immediately.
Within two days time, the pain was a bad memory.
A good friend recommended Fish Oil Capsules as a natural alternative and he's been using them ever since with No side effects whatsoever.

After witnessing the debilitating side effects of statin drugs on my husband & mom, I decided that, should "the time" come for me to be concerned about cholesterol, I would research to find the Natural way to control any issues that came up.

Well, with considerable arm-twisting, I was drug off for my "over-50" physical & sure enough, the first thing that came back was "OH MY, your cholesterol is SOOO high!!  The dr. wants to start you on..."

That was when I just stopped listening & informed his office that there would be No statin drugs used on this body.   I feel exceptionally healthy, no family history of strokes, no heart problems at all, blood pressure is remarkable.*   It made no sense whatsoever to start down that Very unstable path littered with man-made "medication" for a condition that only exists in the medical minds of the 21st century!

With the overwhelming evidence weighing against statin drug therapy as well as heavy criticisms focused at the pharmaceutical & medical facets of our society, I've found renewed confidence in listening to what my own body is telling me...
Which is....
"I'm Fine!  Now leave me BE!!"

The Great Cholesterol Scam
For nearly four decades we in medicine have been taught that cholesterol was the culprit in cardiovascular disease because it was found in atherosclerotic plaques.

Guilt by association was the primary justification for the decision back in the mid-fifties to force upon our nation the now infamous low fat/low cholesterol diet.
Your Life Depends on THIS!
Details the negative effects of abstaining from a naturally cholesterol-laden lifestyle.
Doctors & Journals Promote FALSE Cholesterol Numbers to Line Their Pockets
Intensive high-dose statin drug therapy (atorvastatin) appears to have actually increased the risk for death rather than reduced it. There is no explanation as to why the initially reported numbers were incorrect, nor why the New England Journal of Medicine didn't withdraw this paper, which still misleads many.
Medical McCartheyism
"What If Its All Been A Big Fat Lie" (July 7, 2002), respected science writer Gary Taubes has echoed our opinion, that the current epidemic of obesity and Type 2 diabetes is very likely the result of low fat/high carbohydrate diets vigorously promoted by governmental health authorities over the past few decades.

Cholesterol Targets Fraudulent - Association for Honesty in Medicine Charges
The members of the media are being used for perpetuation of the cholesterol fraud against the American people.
Recently, a widely publicized doctored report by an NIH panel, most of whose members are now known to have had a direct connection to manufacturers of cholesterol-lowering drugs, unveiled a much stricter guideline for cholesterol levels for people at risk of a stroke or heart attack.
Unfortunately, this report, and the publicity given it, set up the people of this country for the use of more totally useless drugs

Cholesterol, Lipitor, and Big Government: The Terror Campaign Against Us All by Karen De Coster
It's certainly the case that the cholesterol-lowering drug Lipitor is shoved on patients unnecessarily because both doctors and Pfizer make lots of dough from the whole swindle. Of course, people - that is, the patients - are ultimately responsible for not questioning the pharmaceutical-medical establishment's products or researching potential health issues on their own. However, the anti-cholesterol terror campaign, and the years of pseudo-science supporting it, were ultimately propped up and empowered by government.

Be Warned! Medical fraud alert: Cholesterol Lowering Statin Drugs Save ZERO Lives

by: Mike Adams

The hype about statin drugs is relentless these days. Physicians are urging patients to take statins even when they don't have high cholesterol. The ADA, for its part, ridiculously suggests that all diabetic patients should be on statins just in case scientists one day discover some benefit to diabetics.

The hype surrounding statins is the con job of the decade, and statin manufacturers are laughing all the way to the bank. But all this begs the question: is there really any health benefit to taking statins? If so many doctors and drug companies are pushing this drug, it must be saving lives or improving peoples' health, right?

Nope. A critical review of thirteen clinical trials, published in the JAMA, reveals some startling facts about statins:

* Statin drugs save zero lives.
* Statins are utterly useless as prevention.
* Even in people with high cholesterol, statins don't reduce the risk of death one iota.
* There has never been a single study that demonstrated statins extend life for women.

So much for the hype surrounding statins. These pharmaceuticals are utterly useless, even for their intended patients. And yet they're hyped up like some sort of miracle drug.

Be Warned [cont.]

by: Mike Adams

To make matters worse, statins actually cause an alarming assortment of side effects, including alterations in sex drive, nutritional deficiencies, muscular disorders, sudden death and widespread hormonal imbalances. Statins actually cause disease while preventing nothing! (That's one reason why the FDA has already banned some statin drugs from the market.)

If statins are so bad for you, then how can modern medicine promote them so obediently? I've always been amazed at the chasm between modern medicine and real scientific thought. Modern medicine parades as science, but it's really nothing more than a medical religion where anything is considered true if the right people say so. Scientific merit is thrown out the window. Simply put, drugs don't have to be useful at all to be heralded as breakthrough pharmaceutical that will save tens of millions of lives. Even if the claim is a lie, it gets airtime, and both doctors and their patients buy into the lies.

The current hype about statins is a lie. These drugs are utterly useless and serve no purpose other than to extract billions of dollars in profits from the general public. Even people with high cholesterol don't benefit from statins, the research now shows. But of course statin manufacturers don't talk much about the real science. These studies are all swept under the rug. Why? Because they'd be interfering with a windfall scam: the great statin con of the 21st century!

My doctor is having me to take simvastatin. I have been reluctant to takeing them. But he insists I do since my cholesterol level is 260, very high. I told him I had was having this one side affect ( i will not mention which one) and he got very upset with me trying to turn to natural herbs. he told me not to take them. For a month I changed my eating habits. No breads, no pastas, no sugars. Mostly was eating fruits and vegetables and yet my cholesteral was even higher than before??? So I started back 3 days ago taking simvastatin. Now after reading this is scary. Actually on the second day of taking the medicine I felt terrible, totaly fatigued and didn't know why. I feel the same way today. Could it be the Simvastatin? If I stop again, my doctor will go bolistic. Has even said he can't treat me if I won't listen to him. Got any recommendations for me. i go back to see him in another week.

seriously?? this man sounds more like a Bully than a doctor! first thing I'd do is find another doctor - one who will treat You like a human being, not just another statistic! have you asked him which cholesterol is high or is the number he's telling you just a general level? look into Natural Whole foods that can help to lower your numbers but all in all, i would ask Is there a reason for this panic?? do you have heart disease & strokes in your family history? take a step back from the negativity that he's projecting and ask questions. in the final analysis, It's Your Body!!

All LDL cholesterol isn't considered bad. The "large, light and fluffy" LDL is considered protective, not harmful. Unfortunately, a typical serum cholesterol (lipid) test is unable to distinguish the "large, light, and fluffy" LDL cholesterol from the more damaging small, dense LDL cholesterol. Doctors just do an estimate with a mathematical calculation. How do statins know which LDL to kill off, or inhibit, in your body?

See the below PDF put out by W.H.O. on cholesterol and mortality of 164 countries.
Any cholesterol level below 220mg/dL reflect an increase in all cause mortality... including coronary artery disease.
    http://renegadewellness.files.wordpress.com/2011/02/cholesterol-mortality-chart.pdf

The link between coronary artery disease and "high" cholesterol is very weak, at best. I have no idea why it is being played out as if it were the "cause" of coronary artery disease. It just doesn't make any sense unless it is done to sell more statin drugs.

HALF of hospitalized coronary artery disease patients have LDL cholesterol levels BELOW 100mg/dL. Seventy-five percent of them have LDL ("bad") cholesterol levels BELOW 130mg/dL. (See below PDF).
    http://astute.cardiosource.com/2007/vposters/pdf/275_Fonarow.pdf

    In Honolulu:
"Our data accord with previous findings of increased mortality in elderly people with low serum cholesterol, and show that long-term persistence of low cholesterol concentrations actually increases the risk of death. Thus, the earlier that patients start to have lower cholesterol concentrations, the greater risk of death."
    Lacet Aug. 2001

"In Honolulu, the lower the LDL/Cholesterol, the greater the risk of dying -- of everything, including CHD."

A study of elderly women indicated that a cholesterol of 270mg/dL was associated with the best longevity. (Forette, et al., 1989)

One of the largest investigations of all-cause mortality and cholesterol involved nearly half a million Korean men between the ages of 30 and 65. Reported in 2000, the study found that the lowest death rates corresponded to cholesterol between 211mg/dL and 251mg/dL, well above currently recommended treatment goals.

I am a Registered Nurse who also feels like you do...I stay as far away from the medical profession as I can..I have seen first hand how the medical profession only treats "symptoms" by burning, cutting, and poison..i.e lasers, surgery, and drugs...instead of finding and treating the "cause" of the problem. You are "right on" about the cholesterol myth. Cholesterol is NOT the cause of heart disease...Heart disease is an inflammatory process brought about by free radical damage. CRP level and homocysteine are better indicators of cardiovascular risk than cholesterol.

Great lens and so true! I had serious side effects from statin drugs too. Very bad stuff! I had liver damage, kidney damage and muscle degeneration after being on a statin for 3 weeks! Beware.
