The Biggest City You've Never Heard OF

I recently traveled to Chongqing and thought I would take some time to share my adventure. This is a wonderful city that is located up the Yangtze River and is often maligned because of it's pollution but we found that the warmth of the people certainly made up for any imperfections. In fact, everything about our stay there was wonderful.

Chongqing

What would I possibly find there?

The Hall of the People, ChongqingWork took to me to Chongqing, China last month and I can't stop thinking about my brief stay there. Formally known as Chungking, Chongqing is a city of 31 million people located in Central China. Yes, 31 million! As you can imagine, a city this large has a lot of issues like any major city. There is overcrowding, housing is expensive, and pollution seemed to be a problem. However, this city has much to offer. You will find fine restaurants of sorts, shopping opportunities, wonderful hotels beautiful gardens and wonderful people.

We stayed at the Intercontinental and was very impressed. Our room was impeccable and the in house restaurant was perfect for breakfast and lunch. In the lobby lounge, we were treated to nightly entertainment in the form of a piano player and singer. I really enjoyed it when she sang the odd Christmas carol seeing how it was March:)

You name the store, you can find it in downtown Chongqing. Every major brand name was represented. We saw Cartier, Hermes, Longines, etc. I even noticed a Victoria Secret under construction. This was truly a shoppers destination.
