Your Skin

Walk into any drug store or department store and you'll be greeted with hundreds of beauty products that claim to solve just about any problem that you could possibly have. When it comes to choosing a wrinkle cream, it's important to know what to look for and which active ingredients are best for your skin type.

Skin typically falls into one of several classifications: normal, oily, dry or combination. The type of skin that you have determines just what type of skin care products and eye wrinkle cream that you should use. Not surprisingly, the condition of your skin actually changes over time. For example, a teenage girl may have extremely oily skin in her teens but find out that her complexion is more normal or dry as she enters her 20s or 30s. It is natural for skin's oil production to slow over time, making some women more susceptible to wrinkles than others as their skin dries out. Although some women may think that oily skin is a bad thing, that actually couldn't be farther from the truth. Skin's natural oils actually help to reduce the number of wrinkles and fine lines, making those with dry skin more prone to wrinkles. Other environmental and genetic factors also play into the likelihood that skin will or will not be wrinkled in later years.

The Right Wrinkle Cream

Oily Skin
If you have oily skin, it's still important to use a wrinkle cream that moisturizes. Just be sure to stay away from oil based wrinkle creams.

Dry Skin
For those that have dry skin, a wrinkle cream that provides good skin hydration is key to lock in moisture.

Combination Skin
It's actually not a bad idea for women with combination skin to use different products on different parts of their face. An under eye cream with a heavy moisture base, plus a light SPF moisturizer would be an ideal combination for someone with dry and normal type skin.

Sensitive Skin
If you have sensitive skin, the best anti-wrinkle eye cream is one that can protect without causing any inflammation or irritability. Stay away from wrinkle creams with Vitamin A or hydroxy acids, as these products may be too powerful for your skin. Also avoid anything that is perfumed or colored, as these may cause a negative reaction. Look instead for gentle products with low concentrations, to build up your skin's tolerance.
