This is a pretty important question to ask because if you have a big house then you are going to need to buy a baby safety monitor that has a long reception range, otherwise you might not be able to hear if your baby needs you or not, this could end in disaster! Check what the range of the device is and make sure you get it according to how big your house is.

Do you want to see your baby?

If you want to see your baby then you are going to have to buy a baby safety monitor that has a video component as well. These are a little more expensive and therefore it should only be if you really want to be able to see your baby, should you buy one, otherwise a simple audio baby safety monitor will do the job.

Do you have other cordless devices in your house?

If you have other cordless devices then you might find that you get some interference. Then you need to make sure that you buy a baby safety monitor with as minimal interference as possible. In fact, many nowadays are equipped with no interference technology.

Do your neighbors use baby safety monitors as well?

If your neighbors use a baby safety monitor then it is the same deal as above. You will need to find a device that has no interference technology. Otherwise you might be hearing your neighbors baby crying and not yours!

What is your budget?

If you don't have a big budget then go for a simple audio based model. That will cost you less and will still get the job done!

How many monitors do you need?

Will it just be you listening to your baby, or some other people in your family. You may need to buy extra monitors for your device so all of you can hear the baby at once.
