Chris Farley Quotes, Movies, Biography, DVDs and More!

Dedicated to the fond memory and undying legacy of comedian Chris Farley. Chris was the classic archetype of the sad clown character. Smiling on the outside, troubled on the inside. He barelled through life at breakneck speeds, afraid that his demons would overtake him if he stopped to smell the roses. Regardless of his excesses, Farley was, during his time on Earth, the funniest man on it. I've never been more saddened by an untimely celebrity death, and this is for Chris.

So much talent, so little left for us to cherish, but this IS IT. This is the treasure trove that Chris Farley left us before he passed. The Matt Foley: Motivational Speaker sketch is without a doubt the funniest piece of sketch that I have EVER seen on SNL.

Tommy Boy (Holy Schnike Edition)

Chris Farley is at the top of his game - which includes the usual pratfalls and physical comedy. One of the strong points includes the character of "Tommy Boy". An odd blend of self loathing combined with a charming sense of confidence in himself.

The comic portfolio of Chris Farley is not everybody's cup of tea. His characterizations often consisted of bellowing blowhards or perspiring ne'er-do-wells who exploited their larger-than-life carriages with a histrionic, physical intensity not seen since John Belushi, John Candy, or Jackie Gleason.
Chris Farley's Lovechild?
Josette Doyle has come forward with sensational claims her eight-year-old son Sterling is the result of a one-night stand between her and Farley. Just a week after the chubby funnyman was honoured with a star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame, Doyle has decided to make her revelation so little Sterling can enjoy the boast of having a famous dad.

This oral history of NBC's Saturday Night Live is the juiciest treasure trove of backstage gossip, sex and drugs since The Andy Warhol Diaries. Mohr treats readers to some affectionate, entertaining tales of the late Chris Farley, but his book is less a juicy inside story of the comedy institution than a tale of an immature young man's struggle with a high-stress, erratic workplace.

Chris Farley Remembered

Quotes from Farley's Friends.

- Comic and writer Al Franken said Farley "was a sweet, big-hearted man. ... He was the most self-effacing comedian I had ever seen." Franken said it was Farley's vulnerability that made him funny, and that his death was "not a shock." "Chris had some problems. Eating was one of them," Franken said. "This was obviously something he couldn't conquer. This is very sad."

- Former "SNL" comic Chris Rock said, "He was one of my best friends and one of the funniest guys I've ever known. I love him and I'm going to miss him."

- Added Adam Sandler, a colleague on "SNL," "Chris was a great friend and the funniest man I ever met. We who knew him are going to miss him every day. My thoughts go out to his family, whom he loved and respected more than anything in his life."

- Actor John Goodman, a frequent "SNL" guest host and longtime friend of Farley's, said he grieved for Farley's family. "I will miss him very much," Goodman said.

- From Rob Lowe, who co-starred with Farley in the movie "Tommy Boy" in 1995: "I loved Chris. He was a unique, hilarious guy, with a heart the size of the Midwest. I'll miss him, but I'll never forget him. My prayers are with his family."

- "Chris was a puppy," said Lenette Collias, who worked backstage at Second City and knew Farley for several years. "He made everyone laugh."

- "Chris was many things: talented, funny, gentle and kind," Second City executive producer Andrew Alexander said in a statement. "Every day of his life was devoted to entertaining others. We will never forget the joy he brought to our lives. Our thoughts and prayers are with Chris's family on this sad day," Alexander said.

- NBC released the following statement: "Everyone at NBC and "Saturday Night Live" mourns the passing of Chris Farley. We find it hard to express how tragic it is to lose such a valued friend and colleague at such a young age.

Chris Farley's Final Hours

While I regret his loss, we can also learn from it.

Christopher Crosby Farley was one of the most naturally talented and funny comedians in history. Chris once said, "I have a tendency toward the pleasures of the flesh. It's a battle for me, as far as weight and things like that." He had been in rehab at least a dozen times, and was scheduled to go again when he died.

Chris owned an apartment in the John Hancock Building, on Michigan Avenue in downtown Chicago. His last day was Wednesday December 17th, 1997. He spent it primarily with a prostitute who called herself Heidi who was hired for Farley by a friend for $2,000. She joined Farley at a party in Lincoln Park (in Chicago) at 11 AM. There were drugs going around. Later that day, Heidi took Farley back to her apartment - where they continued to... read the rest.
