Rockin' The Piano
Chris Merritt is the up and coming musician who's piano skills rival that of Ben Folds and who's voice is reminiscent of a rocked out Pat Monahan of Train. He and his band have brought their act over from sunny California to what has been called the Nashville of the west, Utah.

Chris Merritt On Tour
The time is drawing near for Chris Merritt and company to hit the road! Many of you, I'm sure, have been long awaiting your chance to see him live. Here is a look at a tentative schedule of the band's next couple crazy months. For starters, the East Coast will be receiving a healthy dosage of Chris throughout the month of April. The band is planning to hit Virginia for at least 4 shows, and then continue through New York, Boston and Pennsylvania. More specific dates and locations are forthcoming. This is just a teaser of things to come.
Nearing the end of June, the band will take off for its first international tour! They will be heading to Japan for two weeks to flood the streets with the delicious sounds of jazzed out Indy rock. This tour has inspired Chris to work on a new song in Japanese. You can be looking forward to that in the near future as well.
For those of us that aren't on the East Coast or in Japan, we still have something to look forward to. A few months ago, Chris Merritt began filming a music video for the song "Mimic". They are planning to release the video sometime in February. On top of all of this, according to his band manager, Chris is "possibly going to release a double album against the advice of everyone because he doesn't give a f%$@ and just wants to get a bunch of music out there." Gotta love a musician who loves what he does!
Chris Merritt is just gaining momentum. Keep your eyes and ears open for new news, and keep checking back for the latest updates!
Chris Merritt - Takin Over The World
Chris Merritt is like a virus taking over the airwaves. They are topping the charts on TheSixtyOne.com. TheSixtyOne.com is a genome project where bands can submit their own music, and users use a point system to vote for their favorite songs. If a song is successful, the voters get more points... if not, points are lost. If you take a gander at the leader board, Chris Merritt is second only to Meiko (who is quite fantastic herself).Chris Merritt has also experienced their fair share of success on PureVolume.com as well. In their short stay, they already have nearly 40,000 plays, and that number is increasing every day. That's over eight times as many plays as the up-and-coming Sara Bareilles who is now embarking on the VH1 tour with James Blunt. Step back homies, Chris Merritt is in da house!

Hello, Little Captain
After listening to this album, you will remember what it felt like to breathe for the first time, take a shower after scout camp or kiss a girl for the first time. It's seriously that refreshing. Chris' fingers dance across the keyboard like Gene Kelly on steroids, and his voice will remind you of a brand new color... not a mixture of 2, like blue and green. More a color that nobody's ever seen.

- He came to Charlottesville in Oct and I bought his double album- pixie and Bear. A must buy-AMAZING songs. My entire family loves his music (ages 12-54). Speaking of, his songs are full of stories and emotion, dynamic sounds and lots of soul. Seeing he and Tim live was unbelievable-I still cant believe all of that sounds comes out of so few musicians. You gotta see him.
