It may be hard for us at first, but it comes easily to Him.

Day 2 -- Video

Christ In You Can Hear

Christ in you is not deaf. He can hear the slightest whisper or sigh from the lips of the Father. If Jesus lives in you, you too can become sensitive to the voice of God.

Day 2 -- Article

Christ In You Is Your Ability To Connect With God

The Bible says Christ is the one and only mediator between God and man. So as we seek to be able to hear God's voice, it isn't our disciplines or our attainments that connect us with God. It is Christ Himself.

In connecting us to God, Jesus is like a bridge. One end of Him is connected to God -- He is God. The other end of Him is connected to us, to anyone who believes in Him -- Christ in us is the hope of glory.

He is the perfect link to God. He is the God who speaks from heaven, and He is our hearing ear in the earth. Because of Jesus, we can hear from God.

With this in mind, take another look at Isaiah's prophecy about hearing from God:

The Lord God has given Me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him who is weary. He awakens me morning by morning, He awakens my ear. (Isaiah 50:4)

The next few verses in Isaiah make it clear that this prophecy is about Jesus; it describes His going to the cross. But aside from shedding light on the crucifixion of Christ, what does this verse have to do with us?

If Christ lives in us, we can expect the same process to happen in our own lives. God the Father will awaken our spiritual senses. What is it like when we wake up each morning? We are fully occupied in a dream world, but suddenly light or noise from the real world break in, and we open our eyes.

When the Father awakens our ear, He causes us to engage with the real world that He lives in -- the realm of the Spirit. He awakens not only our hearing but also other spiritual senses. More about this in the next few days.

Isaiah did not prophesy that God would give us a once-in-a-lifetime awakening. He said the Father would awaken us morning by morning. It is a daily experience.

Why does He awaken us? So He can give us something to say to those who are weary, something that will give them new life. He wants to make us into people who bring heaven's touch to the people around us. But how does it happen? Only as we hear from heaven day by day.

Christ in you is your ear to hear, your eye to see, your sensitivity to feel God's presence. If it's written of Christ that the Father wakens His ear morning by morning, this prophecy finds further fulfillment in us if we've received Christ into our hearts.

Day 2 -- Action Step

Ask God For Daily Awakening And More

Ask God to awaken your spiritual senses day by day. Invite Him to give you words that will affirm His love towards the people around you.
He can answer your prayer at any hour of day or night. His timing might surprise you.

As He speaks to you, be sure to thank Him for awakening your senses. And if He shows you things that might encourage the people around you, follow through by sharing with them.

Day 2 -- Guestbook

Questions? Comments? Testimonies?

The questions I won't try to answer are questions about personal direction in your life -- "should I change my career?" -- "should I sell my house?" -- "should I marry ...?" Questions like this should go to your pastor.

Amazing! Only God can make that kind of thing happen. I'm sure He's leading you into something good. And humility is always a good posture, because God gives grace to the humble. Who among us doesn't need more grace? So it never hurts to go low. Blessings -- Stan
