Christcentric - A Stand Out From The Rest
I came across Christcentric a couple of years ago and I was floored by the creativity in their lyrics. I'm a sucker for off the hoot metaphors and emcees that can make me hit the rewind button.
When Jesus spoke in parables he was breaking his message down and speaking to that specific culture in their language so that they would understand what he was talking about. Now in 2008 you have groups like Christcentric that will spit their message to the culture we live in by using the current events of today's society so people will understand them. And in my opinion, there's no better way to speak to our culture than in a language we can understand...Hip Hop. If McDonalds and Burger King can speak to us through hip hip so can Christcentric.
