Christening Cards and Baptism Cards

My first granddaughter was born in March - 4 years ago! The memories are so vivid of the day I became a grandmother. The word holds nothing compared to the awesome experience of my daughter becoming a mother, and meeting her child for the first time. At the hospital, when I first met my granddaughter, I was clearly reminded that I was the next generation, as the nurse spoke of Mom and Dad - of course, they were referring to my daughter and her husband! I was no longer the Mom, in that picture, but the new relationship of Grandmother. I was now, the onlooker, the supporter, the cheerleader, the consultant...the grandmother.

Time for the Christening soon came. What can I do for the new young family? Again, I was in the role of onlooker, supporter, cheerleader, consultant, and yes, Grandmother. I had time now, to help make it a very special event. I wanted a special christening card which would be an important part of the memory from that wonderful time, when the baby was to be Christened. Since I design greeting cards, I was able to design the perfect one. Here is the christening card I made for my Granddaughter. The pink, with lacy pattern was so delicate. The little pink cross and the word "Granddaughter" on this christening card moved me to tears. My daughter had the same reaction when she saw the card. A picture is worth a thousand words... and this one is saved in her scrapbook, along with the picture of that beautiful christening day. I still get goosebumps when I look at this card.
