A Christian Christmas

Don't you just love Christmas?
A Christian Christmas simply means that Christmas is celebrated as the birth of Jesus Christ.

If you're looking for a way to observe a more religious Christmas, here are
5 easy ways to do it.

There are lots of secular (non-religious) and fun Christmas activities and decorations. But if you choose to have a more religious Christmas, there are 5 easy ways to do so.

An Advent Calendar that tells the story of the birth of Jesus helps you teach your kids the Christmas Story. You're counting down the days to Christmas each day you open a "door" to reveal a picture or Bible verse.

Light an Advent Wreath. This is the Christian tradition of lighting a candle each of the four weeks before Christmas. Traditionally, there are three purple candles and one pink candle placed in the Advent wreath.

Send Christian Christmas Cards to share the message of Christmas.

Hang Christian Christmas Ornaments on your Christmas tree.

Place an Outdoor Nativity Set in your yard. Wood or plastic, figures or silhouettes, outlined with lights or lit from within - they're all beautiful.

Maybe you have other ways of celebrating a Christian Christmas. These are just 5 of the ways you can incorporate a more religious Christmas into your holidays.

Advent Calendar

Christian Advent CalendarsChristian Advent Calendars are a fun way for kids to observe Christmas. They can count down the 24 days before Christmas by opening a "door" on the calendar each day to reveal a picture or a Bible verse. With some Advent calendars, they'll find ornaments or candy behind each door, or you can even add your own special treats for the kids to find.

Kids can use their Advent calendar year after year, for there are no dates on it. Just close the 24 "doors" after Christmas and use it again the following year to continue a nice Christian Christmas tradition.

Advent Wreath

Advent WreathsLighting the candles of an Advent Wreath is a Christian tradition. Advent is the period of the four weeks before Christmas. Each of those four weeks, another of the candles is lit accompanied by devotions or a Bible reading and prayers. This is a good time to reflect on the story of the birth of Jesus.

Four candles are used in the Advent wreath. Traditionally, three are purple and one is pink. Advent wreaths can be used year after year and passed down to the next generation. All you need to do is replace the advent candles with fresh, new candles.

Christian Christmas Cards

Christian Christmas CardsShare the message of Christmas by sending lovely Christian Christmas cards this season. Your choice of Christmas cards can convey what you want to say but can't put into words yourself.

You might choose elegant Christmas cards with foil, or cards with simple messages. Popular themes include the Holy Family, Mother and Child and the Baby Jesus in the manger. Angels, shepherds learning of the Birth, Wise Men traveling to Bethlehem and visitors gathered in the stable are also classic themes. Many of these cards are so beautiful that they are like individual pieces of art.

There are also Christian Christmas cards that depict a snow-covered country church. Some cards feature winter birds. All have a Bible verse inside.

Christian Christmas Ornaments

Christian Christmas OrnamentsChristian Christmas ornaments are lovely on your Christmas tree. They are created in many styles, from adorable Precious Moments to the colorful hand-blown glass of Christopher Radko and Old World Christmas to the fused glass ornaments of Peggy Karr. You can create a nativity right on your Christmas tree by hanging individual ornaments of Joseph, Mary, Baby Jesus, Wise Men, angels, shepherds, sheep and stable animals. Besides hanging these ornaments on a Christmas tree, they can be hung from attractive ornament stands on the mantel or a table in your home.

Christian Christmas ornaments also make special gifts for family & friends.

Outdoor Nativity Sets

Outdoor Nativity SetsAn outdoor nativity set is a great way to decorate your yard for Christmas. You can get a set of the Holy Family in wood, plastic or resin. Maybe you want to get a Nativity set of individual pieces that will allow you to add pieces to it each year. Think of the wonderful scene you can create with added Wise Men, angels, shepherds and animals! Other styles of outdoor nativity sets include those outlined in light bulbs and the cute inflatable sets.

If you want a spotlight on your outdoor Nativity set, think about using solar spotlights so you won't have to mess with electric cords. Train a couple of spotlights on your nativity from the sides for a pleasing effect.

Celebrating the birth of Christ is the only real reason for Christmas; your lens conveys a great message. It's sad that so many in the world do not understand that fact.

I agree! Christams is about Jesus, and the birth of Christ. We should be giving thanks to Jesus for dying on the cross for our sins instead of decorating a tree.
