....hand-selected Christian Drama Skits.
All throughout the better part of my youthful, school-aged years, I had the opportunity to be actively involved in several different Christian Drama Skit teams. While engaging in frequent practice, we also performed in various locals, sharing in our interpretation of different, current and past, Christian-themed songs.
Instead of dabbling in otherwise illegal activities, being involved in these various Christian Drama Ministry Teams gave me a much-welcomed outlet during the most difficult times in my life. While my acne was flaring-up, and peer pressure was an ever-present difficulty, I found that Christian Drama Ministry afforded me a great release, that it does for many teenagers who grow up with great struggles.
Unfortunately, I don't have any video of skits that I was actually involved with, however, this lens is meant to highlight YouTube videos of drama skits that have been performed by other groups and church drama skit ministry teams. Based on my personal experience being a member of several different Christian Drama Teams, I will also provide resources and recommendations that deal with just about every aspect of Christian Drama Team Ministry.
The context of the music, and performances (of the videos presented), will span the decades, in relationship to the same songs that I personally had experience working with. New music is always 'current' and definitely has an immediate appeal, although, past music material can certainly be engaging, as well. More current Christian music artists will be presented, along with the likes of artists like "Carman", who gained popular acclaim for his narrative-type Christian music execution. If you found this Squidoo lens through a Google search, you may want to consider watching these videos and, if you are a member of a team that is looking for ideas to perform, I definitely recommend some of the following music for potential performances.
While I realize that this topic may not be everyone's 'cup-of-tea', this art of expression has gained increasing popularity in churches, especially throughout the United States and on into Europe, and many other continents. Most who have had the opportunity to be in the audience for one of these Christian drama skits, may be able to recognize the great deal of emotion and personal expression that goes into the preparation, and execution, of all the many working elements of one of these drama skits. Oftentimes, it's difficult to leave without feeling, in many ways, 'touched': having had your heart-strings tugged on, if ever so subtly.
Extent of Reader's familiarization with Christian Drama
#1) LifeHouse - Everything

No Name Face
As Track #12 on their smash album "No Name Face", I couldn't have organized better placement for this song, on their album.
Other Music by Lifehouse

....and, the interpretation of other Groups.
If you stumbled across this lens, and are considering putting together a Christian drama skit team (or want to analyze potential movements that you can integrate into your current routines), I would definitely recommend watching these videos. Video #4 actually puts an interesting, hip-hop, twist that I had never heard before, with a bit of an overlapping narration.

Drama Ministry
Amazon Price: $19.99 (as of 01/04/2010)![]()
Written by a veteran church ministry drama director, I can't recommend this book enough. Appropriately entitled "Drama Ministry", it was written in order to share expertise with regards to just about every facet of Drama ministry, with valuable insights that are applicable even today. I really wish I would have had this book in the early '90s, when I was a member of a Christian Drama Ministry: I would have definitely shared it with my friends, youth leader, pastor, and Drama Team Director/leader.
If you click on the book, you can read further:
"......It brims with information, ideas, training exercises, samples of scripts, troubleshooting tips, and other tools that can take your team for a quantum leap in effectiveness. The book also includes a CD-ROM that provides a video demonstration of directing techniques. And it's punctuated with personal testimonies and stories from audiences and actors that reveal the power of drama and the impact of team........"

Staking a claim as one of my favorite albums, of all-time (seriously...), the song 'Keep Waiting' can be found on the following album. With a simply beautiful synthesis of hard rock music meshed with occasional arrangements of tear-jerking, heart-felt, melodies, Stavesacre accomplished to make this Album a masterpiece. Year later, I still listen to this album.

- I love this lens! Christian Drama Skits can be very moving indeed. Christians use to dominate theater then when we reached so called 'modern times' Christians disappeared in theater. I say the more Christian Drama Skits - the better :)

- My son participated in a missions trip to Hong Kong where they did drama skits and street ministry. It was quite an experience for him. You are right, that first video is awesome!
