Christian Self Help

Is there really such a thing as Christian Self Help?

In my walk as a Christian since early 2000, I have come to the understanding that "WE ARE ONE!" I've discovered I must embrace my oneness with Christ and all others in our world.

From that understanding I now know that we - being one - are not separate, trherefore I can say Christian Self Help means that we simply help each other as the one that we are. In that way we are a self help team!

Part of what I do is to listen to others as they share how they are hurting and offer my love and forgiveness to everyone. I find when I am in that place I am most at peace.

INTRODUCTION:
The Line In The Sand is a Christian self help book I authored in my walk to freedom. You should use it in a small group setting! It's designed specifically for that purpose, kinda like the purpose driven life materials!

The Line In The Sand

Christian Self Help Book

Line In The SandIt started as a conversation with my accountability group and turned into a 14-chapter, 3 year writing project. I had the draft review by a trusted counselor, and shared the writing experience with many along the way.

I believe the end result is something of a miracle, as you and your small group will discover in the material.

There are 14 chapters, a nice grouping of worksheets to discover, and especially for newer Christians, a process by which to "confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed." This is also known in recovery circles as, (setp 4) "Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves," and (step 5) "Admitted to God, to ourselves and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs."

These steps helped me so much that I just had to write about it. Please share in my experience - You'll be glad you did!

by Dr. Lewis Alexander

Dr. Lewis Alexander is Co-Director of: Center for Relational Leadership located in beautiful Austin, Texas.

A line in the sand marked the beginnings of freedom for the state of Texas - as Colonel Travis called his men to make a choice. In his book, The Line in the Sand, M. Scott Worthington brilliantly discloses the headlines of his journey to freedom from the bondage of darkness to loving his wife, his kids, extended family, friends, and co-workers.

Through vulnerability about his brokenness, Scott gives his readers a road map to sanctification as he embodies a lifestyle of humility, yieldness, and gratitude. The story of connecting with his dad is worth "the price of admission."

Along his healing journey, Scott has related intimately to three sources of light - God, His Word, and His saints. This book will challenge you to look "deep" inwardly to grow yourself and outwardly to understand issues facing others.

The Line in the Sand is not a book to read only, rather it is a book to experience. If you will allow it, this book will grip your soul and set you on a path for sustaining life change and increasing life satisfaction. With creativity and courage, Scott has truly generated a work of art.

Hi, worthim. I think you're on to a good idea here. “Christian self-help" sounds like an oxymoron to someone who is used to the phraseology of the King James Bible. But I don't think humans can come up with a category or a paradigm that doesn't also reveal a part of God's person, will, or ways. I hope your book sells. And keep on adding lenses like this one!
