That's where I hope this lens can help if only in a small way.

Was America founded on Christian principles?

There are many today who would doubt or deny that this is true. A careful look into the past reveals landmarks which were essential in guiding America along the pathway that led us to where we are today. God's Word Should Be The Final Authority 

Not all churches teach all of God's truths

It's very important for all Christians to find and attend a local church. But how do we know which church to join?

Many churches preach doctrine that does not align with Scripture therefore it's vital that we find a church that holds to God's Word as final authority, and to reject any teachings that contradicts Scripture.

In the July 2008 issue of "In Touch" magazine Dr. Charles Stanley said, It's critical that believers ask the right questions before joining a fellowship. Namely, learn whether the church teaches these six truths:

1. The Bible is infallible divine revelation given to mankind so that indivduals can have personal relationship with God.

2. Jesus Christ was born of a virgin.

3. Our Savior was fully human and fully God.

4. After His crucifixion and burial, Jesus was bodily resurrected.

5. Heaven and hell exist.

6. Salvation comes only through faith in Jesus.

In addition, a fellowships message should center around redemption, specifically teaching that man is sinful and seperated from God (Romans 3:23). Since we all come short of His glory, our penalty is death (Romans 6:23). Yet the Father redeemed us through His Son's shed blood, saving all who receive Jesus as Savior (John 3:16; 1 Peter 1:18-19).

Movies About Faith and Spirituality 

Of Interest to Christians

It's important to remember when viewing these movies that many of them produced by Hollywood are not totally based on biblical truth.

The very best way to discern Gods truth is by reading or listening to his word the Holy Bible.

It's my prayer that these movies will be viewed from a biblical prospective and that the viewer will at least come away from them with a desire to learn more about Gods truths.

One final point. Please keep in mind that not all of the movies listed here are appropriate for all viewers nor do they all express total biblical truth.

001- Facing the Giants

This inspirational drama from award-winning producers Alex and Stephen Kendrick combines faith and football in the tale of high school coach Grant Taylor (Alex Kendrick), who rises above failure to create a winning spirit on the field. Taylor faces a losing team, a failing marriage and the possibility of being fired. At the end of his rope, he puts his life in God's hands and, in doing so, finds a stronger purpose and, ultimately, salvation.
002- Fireproof

In this inspirational drama, former sitcom star Kirk Cameron ("Growing Pains") plays Capt. Caleb Holt, a dedicated firefighter whose marriage to his wife, Catherine, has taken a severe turn for the worse and is about to end in divorce. 004- Jeremiah: The Bible

His prophecy comes true and he is forced to experience first hand how Jerusalem is destroyed by the Babylonians and how the inhabitants are taken as prisoners to Babylon.
