Why Should We Pray?
We suffer difficulties, sorrows, adversities, sickness, diseases, hurts temptations etc. in our lives. At times, even our family members and friends cannot help us at all. We do not know what to do. At such a dilemma, I would like to call upon all Christians to start seeking, turning your mind and heart to the Lord and pray fervently an perseveringly to him for help and consolations.
Prayer is simply talking to God, to be in the presence of God, and to share with him our thoughts and feelings. God speaks to us through His Word, the Bible, messages, and we talk to the Lord in prayer.
If you do not pray, your faith will leave you. When you pray, give thanks to God for all His Gifts.
Everything starts from prayer. What is a prayer? It is merely our communication with the Lord, pouring out our bitterness to him, telling him about our needs, expressing our love and thanks to him, surrendering our problems to him etc. To pray to Christ is to love him. If we pray we will be able to love and if we love, we will be able to serve others more effectively.
Prayer is not asking. Prayer is putting oneself in the hands of God, at His disposition and listening to his voice in the depths of our hearts. It is the will of God that all His children must pray. Every child of God must learn how to pray. If you trust in the Lord and the power of prayer, you will overcome any feelings of doubts and fear and loneliness that people commonly feel.

The Origin Of Prayer Hands
During the fifteenth century, there was a family with eighteen children living in a tiny village in Germany. Their father was a goldsmith by profession, working long hours everyday in order to provide for the family. It was really a hard life for the whole family.
However, two of the children had a dream to pursue their talent for art, but they knew very well that their father would not be able to finance them to study at the Art Academy. School in town.
After many nights of long discussions in their crowded bed, the two boys finally worked out a solution. They would toss a coin. The loser would go and work in the nearby mines and support his brother in the academy school . They agreed that the brother who won the toss, upon completing his studies after four years would then support the other brother to pursue his dream with sales of his artwork .
One Sunday morning, after church service, both brothers tossed a coin. Albrecht Durer won the toss, and he enrolled himself at an Art Academy School to pursue his dream. The other brother, Albert, who lose the toss went down into the mines and worked for four years to finance his brother Albrecht Durer. Not long after, Albrecht Durer work at the academy was very encouraging. Albrecht's woodcuts, etchings and his oils were far better than most of his teachers. Upon his graduation, he was already able to earn quite a good income from his commissioned works.
Upon this young artist's graduation, he returned to his village and his family held a feast to celebrate his homecoming. After the meal, Albrecht stood up to drink a toast to his beloved brother who had worked for four years in order to support him to accomplish his ambition. After the feast, his closing words were, "Albert, a blessed brother of mine, now it is your turn to pursue your ambition now, I will take care of your needs ."
But, Albert with tears streaming down his face, shaking his head ,sobbing and said over and over again, "No ...no ...no ......". He said, "No, brother. It is too late for me. Look .........what the four years I worked in the mines have done to my hands! The bones in every of my finger have been smashed , and lately I have been suffering from arthritis so badly in my right hand that I cannot even hold a glass not mentioning about a pen or a brush. No, brother ... it is too late for me."
To show gratitude to his brother for all that he had sacrificed for him, Albrecht Durer painstakingly drew his brother's abused hands with palms together and thin fingers stretched skyward. He named this drawing "Hands," but many people opened their hearts to this great masterpiece of his and renamed it as "The Praying Hands."

Lord,
We ask for your blessing to be upon all those to whom You have entrusted motherhood. May Your Holy Spirit constantly inspire and strengthen them. May all mothers receive Your Grace abundantly in this earthly life, and may they look forward to the eternal joy in Your presence in the life to come.
Bless all the mothers who care, nurture and give selfless love to the children whom you have entrusted to their care. Grant them more of your grace, strengthen their faith and let their love shine forth. Grant that their sons and daughters may honor them always with respect.
Help all the mothers to grow daily in knowledge and understanding of Your Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, and grant them the wisdom to impart this knowledge faithfully to their children. Bless these mothers with your heavenly wisdom, discernment, revelation, guidance and patience so that they may lead their children to know and do what is good, to bring up each and every of their children according to your desire.
We beseech You to send Your Holy Spirit, the Comforter, to all mothers who are sorrowing over their rebellious children who have estranged from their families, or who are in trouble or danger of any kind. Help grieving single mothers be able to rely on Your tender mercy and fatherly love for all her children. Strengthen them physically, mentally, spiritually and emotionally.
Watch over every mother who is conceiving with child, strengthen her faith in Your care and love for her and for her unborn baby. Give her courage in times of fear or pain, understanding in times of uncertainty and doubt, and hope in times of trouble. Grant her joy in the birth of her child.
Help all the spiritual mothers, Lord, those who may not have children of their own but selflessly care for the children of others. Grant that they may know the joy of fulfilling this motherly calling of women, whether in discipling, teaching, nursing or in other jobs.
Please bless all the mothers, Lord, and comfort them. Help them to continue to grow in love and give themselves to others. Strengthen them when they feel down and give them hope when they are discouraged. Bless all mothers with deep and tender love so that they may lead their children to live not for themselves alone, but for God and for others.

Prayer For Peace Of Mind
Lord,
I praise You, Lord, that Your kingdom does not consist of meat and drink only, but it is righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
Fill me with all the joy and peace that comes from believing your promises. I want to be abound in hope and experience the power of your Holy Spirit in my life.
Help me to love your word, so that it will bring peace to my soul because You promise that nothing shall be able to offend me if I love your word.
With Your peace, Lord, I will not worry, but in everything, by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, I will bring my requests before You. Heavenly Father,

You are certainly a God of compassion, full of abundant Grace. You institute the marriage system on this earth between a man and a woman. This is a wonderful gift that you have given to ________________ and _________________.
As these two come together into a new unity. They need Your grace to guide and enable them to live together harmoniously, especially when they do not see things the same way. We pray that you would help them to be humble before You and before one another also.
We pray that they will be patient towards each other, never be envious or boil over with jealousy, they are not vainglorious. They will not be conceited or arrogant. They will not be rude to each other, and do not act unbecomingly. May this couple be cooperative, do not insist on their own rights or their own way while living together.
We pray that they will bear up under anything and everything that comes. Their hopes will not be fadeless under all circumstances. Temper their hearts with kindness and understanding, rid them of all pretense so that their love will never fail, it will never fade out or comes to an end. They will love each other with the God-kind of love.
We pray that You will grace their days with blessings, good health and prosperity. Help them to look out not only for their own interests, but also for the interests of others. As they form a new family unit, may they guard their marriage and enjoy one another.
May they become the light and the salt of this world, and contribute to impact others for the Kingdom of God. May others see their marriage and be drawn to the Sovereign of their marriage, the Lord Jesus Christ.
As stresses conspire to pull this couple apart, may they look toYou to help to draw them back together again. May the storms of life bind them together in greater unity. May they enjoy life in a godly way. We pray that their lives lovingly express truth in all things, they will speak truly, deal truly, and live truly.

Your word says, "Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be in one flesh." (Genesis 2:24)
"What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder." (Matthew 19: 5)
You are certainly a God of compassion, full of abundant Grace. You institute the marriage system on this earth between a man and a woman. This is a wonderful gift that you have given to ________________ and _________________.
As these two come together into a new unity. They need Your grace to guide and enable them to live together harmoniously, especially when they do not see things the same way. We pray that you would help them to be humble before You and before one another also.
We pray that they will be patient towards each other, never be envious or boil over with jealousy, they are not vainglorious. They will not be conceited or arrogant. They will not be rude to each other, and do not act unbecomingly. May this couple be cooperative, do not insist on their own rights or their own way while living together.
We pray that they will bear up under anything and everything that comes. Their hopes will not be fadeless under all circumstances. Temper their hearts with kindness and understanding, rid them of all pretense so that their love will never fail, it will never fade out or comes to an end. They will love each other with the God-kind of love.
We pray that You will grace their days with blessings, good health and prosperity. Help them to look out not only for their own interests, but also for the interests of others. As they form a new family unit, may they guard their marriage and enjoy one another.
May they become the light and the salt of this world, and contribute to impact others for the Kingdom of God. May others see their marriage and be drawn to the Sovereign of their marriage, the Lord Jesus Christ.
As stresses conspire to pull this couple apart, may they look toYou to help to draw them back together again. May the storms of life bind them together in greater unity. May they enjoy life in a godly way. We pray that their lives lovingly express truth in all things, they will speak truly, deal truly, and live truly.
