This lens is here to promote the Word of God.  Read stories of the goodness and love of Jesus Christ.  He is here; He is real; He lives and He heals . . . and for those with eyes to see and ears to hear, He can be experienced.

He's waiting for you.  As you read these true Christian testimonies, my hope is that your life will be touched and changed.

From the depths of Buddhism to a relationship with Jesus

I was born to a poor family that consisted of my mom and grandparents in a remote village of Wangdue District, in the kingdom of Bhutan. At the age of 10, my mom had passed away leaving me with grandparents.

Within three months, stricken with grief, my grandmother followed her daughter. By then my grandfather alone had to look after me so he enrolled me into a community primary school. He didn't survive more than a year.

After all this I was totally alone in a haunted bamboo hut until my uncle (Mom's brother) came in need of a babysitter . . .

Writing an Effective Testimony

Writing a testimony people want to read is the point.

Avoid evangelical jargon. People don't want to feel like they're being preached at.

Be real. Avoid the perfectly pretty story. Life is messy. People are interested in your mess and how you cleaned it up.

Including a picture of yourself helps people connect with you.

You're not creating your testimony for Christians. Remember your target audience.

Again, be real. Christianity isn't all fun and games. It's about a relationship with the Jesus of the Bible. Don't paint an unrealistic picture. Christians don't necessarily have it all together. I know I don't.

Don't be afraid to write. Don't worry about conventions (capitalization, punctuation, spelling). Just write your story. You can fix it up later. If you submit your testimony to us, we can help you proofread it.

Don't buy the lie that your testimony is boring or worthless. Someone out there needs help and your story may be the one they connect with. You don't have to be a recovered ax murderer to have an interesting testimony.

If it's tough for you to get started, make an outline. The following might help you get started. Use the bulleted items as main points and expand from there.

~ My previous life
~ How I met Jesus
~ My life now

Include more than just facts. People want to connect with something. Describe emotions, thoughts, desires, tragedies, and triumphs.

Pray.

Whatever - We are what we think about.

DO YOU KNOW HIM?

Do you know the Jesus of the Bible? He may be very different than the one you've heard about.

Get to know Him.

Verse of the Day

Reading a verse every day wouldn't be a bad thing. This is actually better than a "verse of the day" because every time you click "refresh" you'll get a new verse. These are some of my favorites.

What About YOUR Life?

Jesus has impacted your life or He hasn't. Only you know the truth.

Since my decision to follow Jesus, my life's course has changed directions. Drugs and sex no longer satisfy - He's changed me!

Jesus - Dead or Alive?

Jesus either rose again or He's a flat-out liar.

Jesus lived. I think most of us would agree. Historians do. Jesus died (obviously). So now, you must make a choice. The rest of your life depends on your answer.
