Who is Christina Hendricks

Though naturally a blonde, Christina Hendricks has made her mark on TV as the curvaceous secretary and office manager, Joan Holloway, on AMC's Emmy-nominated period series, "Mad Men" which premiered in 2007.

Adept at shifting from demure waif to sultry vixen in the blink of an eye, Hendricks honed her acting skills in supporting roles on Joss Whedon's cult hit "Firefly" (FOX, 2002) and UPN's short-lived drama, "Kevin Hill" (2004-05). Named one of People magazine's "100 Most Beautiful redheads" in 2008, Hendricks was primed for stardom as a screen siren for the modern era.

Christina Hendricks' first television break was when she became a regular on the television series Beggars & Choosers. Since then, she has starred in the series The Big Time and The Court, opposite Sally Field and Craig Bierko, as well as the law drama Kevin Hill.

She was also on ER and Firefly for several episodes. Other shows that she guest-starred in were Angel, Miss Match, Tru Calling, Presidio Med, Without a Trace, and Las Vegas.

Hendricks also starred opposite Kip Pardue in South of Pico and Hendricks was also seen on 3 episodes of the TV show Life, in the role of Olivia, detective Charlie Crews' soon-to-be step-mother. It is a shame this show ended so quickly as there was talk about expanding Christina's smoking-hot Olivia into a recurring role.

In 2010, Hendricks will be in the movie Life as We Know It, along with Katherine Heigl and Josh Duhamel. This film is about a couple of single people who inherit an orphaned girl when their best friends are killed in an accident.

She also was in The Family Tree as Alicia. This was the story of a dysfunctional family, whose mother suffers from amnesia. Also featured Dermot Mulroney and Hope Davis. Another film she will be in is Leonie, about the life and relationships of the early 20th American educator, editor, and journalist Leonie Gilmour.

In 2011, Christina will be in Detactment with Adrien Brody, James Caan and Lucy Liu.
