BURNING WILD -- Released April 28, 2009

Born into a world of twisted monsters, Jake Bannaconni is shaped and molded into a cold, revenge driven man. Honed in the fires of hell, he controls his world and rules with an iron hand. He has everything and anything money can buy. He's ruthless, merciless and considered a man to leave alone. His hidden legacy, that of a shapeshifter, makes him doubly dangerous in the corporate world.
Emma Reynolds is a woman who knows how to love and love well. When their two worlds collide, Jake's plans for a complete take over, may just come tumbling down.
I loved these two characters very much. The story is very emotion driven, and at times shocking. There are parts of this book that will be controversial and definitely, for some readers, probably not a good read, but it is Jake's story and I stayed as true to the repercussions of a traumatic childhood as possible within the realms of a paranormal world. While not for everyone, I think many readers will enjoy the story of one man's discoveries on his path to finding what's important in life.
HIDDEN CURRENTS -- June 30, 2009

When she disappears, he gathers with his friends, Jonas Harrington and Ilya Prakenskii, and Elle's sisters to find her and bring her safely home. Dark Series Book #1 Mikail and Raven
Buy All Books HereBOOK #1:
Mikail and Raven-She came to him at dawn, his bleakest hour. As the beast raged inside him, threatening to consume him, he vented his centuries-old despair in an anguished cry that filled the waning night. And she answered, a ray of light, piercing his darkness.
Dark Prince is the first in the fascinating and highly sensual Dark series created by the very talented Christine Feehan. It is a world of mystery, danger, intense emotions, extraordinary psychic and physical power. The Carpathians are a wise and ancient species, appearing just like humans except that they can live for millennia and have amazing psychic and physical powers. Only sunlight and violent wounding can destroy them. They sleep during the day, deep in the healing earth, and are awake at night, thriving in the darkness. They are in perfect harmony with the earth and all its plants and animals.
They can shape shift into any animal and even become as fog. They move, travel and heal themselves with phenomenal speed. And they survive on human blood-yet they never kill the donor and gently wipe out his/her memory of their "feeding." The male is a predator, dark and dangerous, and this darkness grows until he finds his life mate-the feminine light that perfectly balances and illuminates his darkness. If he does not find his life mate soon enough, the male gradually loses his emotions and his ability to see in color. He is condemned to a lonely, dark and despairing world devoid of all happiness. When he does find her, he regains his emotions and his world becomes brightly colored, full of joy and hope. But for many hundreds of years no female Carpathians have been born, and few males have survived infancy.
To make matters worse, many males who have not found their life mates have become so filled with dark despair that they have "turned," becoming vampires who can then feel exhilaration by murdering humans and Carpathians. Carpathian males have had to focus much of their energy on tracking down and destroying this threat to all life while themselves resisting the overwhelming temptation to turn. Some have tried to take human women as their life mates, but the women have gone violently insane when their bodies were converted to Carpathian and had to be destroyed.
When Dark Prince begins, Mikhail Dubrinsky, the very wealthy and handsome prince of the Carpathians, has decided to walk into the sunlight and thus end his life. He wields enormous power over himself, others and all the elements, but his extreme loneliness and despair at ever finding a life mate have become overwhelming. He can no longer bear to go on, even though he feels a strong duty to lead his people and to wipe out vampires from the earth. He is afraid that he will turn himself if he waits any longer. And then he hears a sweet female voice in his head-one of compassion and comfort.
Raven Whitney has journeyed all the way from America to the remote and beautiful Carpathian mountains for a much-deserved rest. She is a supremely gifted psychic who has assisted the police in tracking down mass murderers-a nauseating task that damages her body and spirit but which she undertakes because of her compassion for the victims. She is all that is light and goodness, and she reaches out to Mikhail when she feels his overwhelming loneliness and despair. She is herself no stranger to loneliness; she must keep as far away from other people as possible to avoid being bombarded by their thoughts and emotions.
Mikhail is astounded by this psychic contact and immensely enjoys the teasing banter Raven mentally projects to cheer him up. He travels to her in the form of a bird and, observing her, realizes that she is his life mate. But how can this be? She is human. And how can he convince a woman who doesn't even know that Carpathians exist that she is his life mate? Mikhail and Raven embark on an extraordinary relationship-fun, tender and sensual-that keeps the reader riveted. In the meantime, they are faced with danger from a group of fanatical vampire hunters bent on killing anyone who's not human. Mikhail and Raven team up to stop them, but clash over Raven's determination to take an active role that often places her in grave danger.
As a Carpathian, Mikhail is extremely protective and highly possessive of this woman he loves with a passion that goes beyond the most intense human feeling. He is tender, gentle and caring toward Raven while utterly ruthless and violent with his enemies. He will faithfully cherish her forever and will himself die if she does. Once life mates unite, they cannot live without being in frequent contact with each other. But how can he live forever with a human or convert her to Carpathian without destroying her? And how can he protect her from evils she doesn't realize exist? Dark Prince is a riveting story full of action, surprise, passion and the depths of love. Feehan has created a mesmerizing hero that every romance reader can fall in love with and the wondrous world of Carpathians that is fascinating to explore. I could not put Dark Prince down and am eager to read all the novels in this unusual and compelling series.

Though she doesn't understand it yet, and certainly with the lack of formal Carpathian education Darius cannot understand the signs, they are destined to mate. Lover Beware

Magic in the Wind (Christine Feehan)...Damon Wilder had always been a recluse. Never forming lasting attachments, all Damon lived for was his work. That all changed when his partner died and he was tortured for answers on the project he was working on for the government. Drawn to a sleepy town on the coast, Damon was enjoying his retirement as much as he was able. Then he started hearing the whispers. 'Sarah's home' seemed to call to him and he was irrestibely drawn to the house that was on the cliff above his. Sarah Drake was the first of seven daughters. Descended from a legacy of magic, Sarah put her special skills to use protecting innocent people. She was happy to take the job that would take her back to her home, but she was unprepared for the feelings that Damon Wilder unleashed in her. Magic in the Wind is a great story by Christine Feehan that has me looking foward to the six remaining stories.
Hot August Moon (Katherine Sutcliffe)...Anna Travelli was a special profiler of the FBI. Moved into the depths of the Behavioral Science Unit of the FBI, no one understood why Anna had to be at the scene of the crime to profile the killer. Anna knew though, she knew that she would see through the eyes of the killer and sometimes even the victim. Her current case brings her back to New Orleans and the lover and love of her life that she left behind. Jerry Costos never forgot Anna, not even in the years they spent apart. Now they are working together to solve the murder of the family of a good friend of them both. In the midst of it all, Anna knows that it could never work out. This is a prequel to Bad Moon Rising, which I already read and loved. If you haven't read Bad Moon Rising, you will not like how this book ends and you will be very dissapointed.
After Midnight (Fiona Brand)...Jane O'Reilly went from city girl to country wife when she married her husband, Patrick. When Patrick died of cancer, leaving Jane behind, she was determined to go on and keep the farm running. She hadn't seen her volitale neighbor, Michael Rider, in nearly seven years since the day his startling confession ruined any chance she would have at happiness with her husband. After standing by Patrick, Jane is now determined to find out if what she felt for Michael all those years ago was real. The day that Michael met Jane, it ruined his marriage and almost his life. Determined to give her time, he left for seven years. Now he's back, and adament on claiming her. But there is evil lurking in the shadows, and all Michael and Jane have are each other. I really enjoyed this book. It was short and sweet and held everything you would be looking for in a romance.
Only Human (Eileen Wilks)...Lily Wu was promoted to a detective in the homicide division of the San Diego Police Department because of her determination to find justice. When horrible murders start taking place, she is forced to work with Rule Turner, who may be the only one who could help find the murderer. Descended from a species that was not quite human, Rule's clan didn't believe in fidelity or faithfulness. Lily didn't think that would be a problem early on, afterall he was only a means to an end. Rule knew exactly who Lily was, all he had to do was get her to see it. Together they embark on a journey of discovery, from finding a murderer as well as a traitor, to discovering what it is like to find your soulmate. A definetly different book, I nevertheless really enjoyed it.

Turbulent Sea (Drake Sisters, Book 6)
Sometimes things click into place and the "fates" determine that something special is going to happen. Sometimes it's timing. Sometimes it's luck. Sometimes it's talent and hard work. I think this is all of those things. And I couldn't be happier at the way it turned out.
Turbulent Sea is Joley's story from the Drake Sister's series. I always ask Circle of Seven Productions to do something different with the trailers so they're unique. The idea of doing a music video was exciting!
I sent the story to Sheila Clover English who writes the scripts for most of my trailers. After reading the book she sat down and wrote lyrics for the music video. I loved it immediately! Michael Miller came up with the melody and then Gregory and NiNi Burkart of CORVO took it and made it into a song, with NiNi singing it. It was a real collaborative effort on the part of COS.
Sheila worked with Domini Stottsberry to choose some of the scenes that would be in the script and then Sheila had to match the chosen scenes to the lyrics of the song so they would flow correctly with the music.
Sheila approached me about having someone more experienced with music video do the directing. Victoria Fraasa has worked on many top music videos and her husband, Steve Fraasa is an experienced videographer and DP. I met with Victoria in Pittsburgh during RT and we went over her vision of the scenes. I knew right away that this was going to be something special. So many people were involved from the beginning of the process to the very end.
We thought we would try to get the cover model from the Turbulent Sea book cover to play the part of Ilya. But, he wasn't going to be available during the time of the shoot so Sheila and Victoria started working on the casting. As soon as I saw Eric Holter I knew he would be perfect as Ilya. He had played a Russian before and we watched his professional reel, which is like a video resume, and contacted his agent to book him for the video.
Cecilia is my youngest daughter and has always played the part of Joley in the other book trailers. It was her turn to be the star. Cecilia got the music in advance and worked hard to learn all the words. She practiced lip syncing to the music and even listened to it in her car as she was driving around. My little girl was about to become a rock star! Lol
Michael Miller does all the special effects for COS and he would be on the set to help out and as a consultant for the special effects shots. Cheryl Miller, Jacob Henderson and Mike Miller all came for the shoot and Mike, Michael's son who is following in his Dad's footsteps, volunteered to play the villainous teenager that Ilya lifts up off the ground around the middle of the video.
Watching Cecilia perform was amazing! And watching the video I could see how hard she worked on capturing who Joley and how she performs.
Eric is an experienced actor and you could really tell. He was so patient and helpful with Cecilia and the two of them bonded right away. You can tell how great their chemistry was during the shoot. A lot of people think there's a kissing scene in the video, but there isn't. The romantic scene is so beautifully done and the part where Joley finds Ilya's gun and pushes him away gave me chills!
I am always so excited to watch the process during one of these shoots, but I never really can imagine how it will look when it is all put together. When I saw the video I was overwhelmed! It was more than I had hoped for. The sense of love, adventure and danger all came across exactly right and the performances were breathtaking. I love so many of the scenes it's hard to say which my favorite is. I've watched it so many times now and I'm still not tired of watching it. I love the music. I love the video. I hope that people will read this book and watch the video again. The book is very dear to me and I want to thank everyone who is so supportive of this series.

Grim Space

Christine Feehan's blog entry
It is very seldom that I can recommend a new book as I don't have a lot of time to read these days. My son discovered a new author, Ann Aguirre, and gave me the book to read on the flight home from RT. It was written in the first person, not a favorite of mine, so I almost said no. However, I'm so glad I didn't as I would have missed the adventure of a lifetime.
Grimspace is amazing! By the third page I was on a roller coaster ride along with the heroine, wondering what in the world was going to happen next. I was surprised to find I wanted more! More! More! The story is gripping and very edgy.
I don't know this author, but I honestly couldn't put the book down and didn't want anyone to interrupt me for any reason. I loved everything about the book. The world and the characters, even the secondary characters, were all amazing! The heroine is amazingly real and the hero is dark and flawed (just the way they should be).
I will admit that the first thing I did Monday morning was look Ann Aguirre up on the internet (http://www.annaguirre.com) to find other books. This turned out to be her first, so I called her publishing house and begged (see what I'm capable of doing to get a good book????) to see her next book. I can't wait to read Wanderlust and if the it's even half as good as the first, she will be at the top of my autobuy list.
If you love an adventure and a page turner, great characters and edge of your seat action, this sci-fi romance is definitely for you. Pick up Grimspace and give it a try!!!

Paranormal Romance

Editorial Reviews
From Publishers Weekly
Newbies to Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood may struggle to fill in the backstory, but these erotic paranormals are well worth it, and frighteningly addictive. The six "brothers" are vampires: enormous, tattooed, tormented warriors who protect other vampires from destruction by the "lessers," desouled humans in the evil Omega's Lessening Society. Hero and ex-cop Butch is the only human allowed into the Brotherhood's inner circle, but Butch is no mere human, a fact suspected by one of his vamp colleagues, and confirmed by the sinister plans of the Omega. The book is fully committed to its urban sensibility, the vampires' rarified language (a glossary is provided) and their revved-up sex drives, and it all works to great, page-turning effect (with the notable exception of a chick lit-like attention to designer brands). Though Butch's love interest, the virginal, aristocratic vampire Marissa, initially elicits more annoyance than empathy, she grows a spine as the book progresses and Butch's destiny comes to light. In just two years, the first three books in the series have earned Ward an Anne Rice-style following, deservedly so; this entry should prove no less popular. (Mar.)

It's tough to keep raising the bar in a series, but the phenomenal Ward manages to do just that! From book one, human ex-cop, Butch O'Neal has seemed like the odd man out in her vampire brotherhood, but in this amazing novel he definitely comes into his own. The world of the Black Dagger Brotherhood continues to grow and become more layered, ramping up the tension, risk and passion. This is awesome stuff.
Product Description
Butch O'Neal is a fighter by nature. A hard-living ex-homicide cop, he's the only human ever to be allowed in the inner circle of the Black Dagger Brotherhood. And he wants to go even deeper into the vampire world-to engage in the turf war with the lessers. His heart belongs to a female vampire, Marissa, an aristocratic beauty who's way out of his league. And if he can't have her, then at least he can fight side by side with the Brothers.
But fate curses him with the very thing he wants. When Butch sacrifices himself to save a civilian vampire from the slayers, he falls prey to the darkest force in the war. Left for dead, he's found by a miracle, and the Brotherhood calls on Marissa to bring him back, though even her love may not be enough to save him.

Races And Abilities
Races and Abilities:
Here at the True Carpathians we have many different races and preternatural abilities that are part of the Feehan universe. The following guidelines are to address all the different types of abilities and races beyond the Carpathians that are available on this site:
Human Psychics: For most people these gifts can be strong or weak depending on who they are, their experience, age, and/or training. Alexandria had natural telepathic blocks that resisted normal scans, Raven could detect the presence of evil and so on. In all instances they were gifted enough to impress and at times thwart their Lifemates, but they were never strong enough to telepathically stop them once blood was exchanged. That is the basic rule for a standard human psychic in dealing with a Carpathian.
1. For a naturally gifted Human only ONE latent talent should be primary per character. (Basic telepathic speech is allowed to accompany this ability) There can be exceptions to this rule of course and you can ask a mod if your character qualifies as one.
2. Abilities must be kept at a human level. No gifted human can affect an entire cities weather pattern for example, or catch an entire building on fire without a gas can and really big book of matches. These gifts must be kept on a human scale and do not rival a Carpathian or Vampire.
Some of the human psychic abilities noted:
Telepathy: The ability to share thoughts, or read minds. Those with deliberate blocks, or wards can resist.
Clairvoyance: The ability to touch an object or person and know their history or thoughts.
Telekinesis: the ability to move objects that are of a smaller weight than the individual.
Empathy: The ability to feel/sense the emotions of others. (And only emotions. Telepathy and empathy can occasionally combine -- Raven had both -- but again, ask first.)
Precognitive: The ability to see glimpses of the future/past, via visions or dreams. In almost all instance this gift is difficult to control and will come unwarranted to the person. Or it shows as a supplement to other fortune telling tools (Tarot cards, runes, IChing)
Necromancy/Channeling: The ability to see, hear or speak to the dead. (Not revive them, this is NOT an Anita Blake site.)
Pryrokinesis: The ability to start fires or sparks via the mind or touch. (fire-starters)
HydroKinesis: The ability to manipulate water or cause rain.
Electrokinesis: The ability to generate sparks or shocks, all the way to low wattage lightening.
*THESE THREE GIFTS ARE MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE. IN NO CASES CAN THEY BE COMBINED, BECAUSE THE POOR WOMAN WOULD EITHER DOUSE HER OWN FIRES OR EXPLODE. LOL
Astral Projection: the ability for the persons soul/essence to the leave their human body and travel for a measure of time or distance. This is a dangerous gift for if the user is separated to long or too far they will be lost forever.
Communication with animals: The ability to 'speak or influence' animals. Please note, that an animal mind is NOT like a human, Animals have much more simple thought patterns and cannot speak back beyond impulses and words.
Healing: The ability to accelerate the bodies abilities to heal, or to buffer the pain in another person or themselves. This can in no way rival a Carpathians ability to heal from the inside out, and is more a ability to speed the human bodies natural process.
Agro kinesis: The ability to manipulate plant life (shape or size), and to accelerate the growth or death of a plant.
Influence: The ability with the mind or voice to seduce, calm or influence another. It is a smaller version of a Carpathians 'compulsion.' However, it is not as powerful as a full-blown compulsion...the person will be nudged in the direction the woman wants to go, but it can be resisted if it's something they don't really want to do without too much of a struggle.
Illusion: The ability to project or imbed an image or thought into another persons mind so that it is construed as real. These images are not real, and cannot be done on a grand scale.
Psychic-vampirism: the ability to absorb the telepathic abilities of another gifted human. The absorption must be for a limited amount of time and cannot rival the full power of the subject being used.
*NOTE: "For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction." This is a valid premise at TTC and must be considered for all humans with psychic gifts. Nothing comes without a price, and those who are gifted know this as well (per CF's books.) To use ones abilities there is a cost, it might be fatigue, headache, pain, 'backlash', strength, or sanity. But the user MUST have repercussions from using their gifts. This is to establish a balance, and to restrict anyone from creating a superhuman character that simply do not exist in the CF world.
Half bloods/blood exchanges:
In the books the only half blood characters were Shea (Dark Desire) and Natalya (Dark Demon) in all instances these women retained some Carpathian characteristics. (aversion to sunlight or easily sunburned, the need for blood or blood transfusions, enhanced psychic abilities or gifts, and a low level telepathy.) Both of them dealt with the negative side effects of having this balance, and for the sake of the game all players who run a Halfblooded character must keep that in mind.
When dealing with blood exchanges or transfusions, if a human received blood, it will act as an augment to the humans existing gifts, and link them directly to the vampire/Carpathian who's given them their blood. In terms of a vampire it will be for control or to turn them into a ghoul/slave or worse, conversion. While in the Carpathian's instances it serves as an eternal link and (per their culture) a promise of protection.
Mage's:
Mage's are, in essence, wizards or witches who are technically still human, and who possess the ability to caste spells, summon power, and weave/unweave wards. To use magic or spells the player who plays a mage MUST have been taught to utilize them. A person born to a Mage bloodline is simply considered a psychic until they receive training or knowledge on how to work magic. Without that in a characters history they are considered only a psychic till taught/discovered otherwise.
All magical spells and abilities must be in tune/similar with the books written by CF. These are based on elemental magic, protection, transformation, scrying, and summoning all deriving from spoken/chanted words, symbols or hand gestures. (NO silent spellcasters, please) The same principle used by the Carpathians in weaving safeguards are a good example to follow though the result is up to the player. Don't try to make a supermage who knows every spell in the book or effectively gives the character all the powers outlined above. Really. It won't work. Don't try it.
*cultural note: all references to Mages in the books speak of a long going animosity between the Carpathians and Druids. This was due to the dark mage, Xavier
Dragonseeker/Mage: This character type has been mentioned in the books, but the family is small. Therefore it may be pulled if CF ever completes the familial story in her books.
The Near human and half bloods of this family line possess one defining feature relevant to all in that family, the dragonseeker birthmark (shaped like a dragon and located on the pelvis.) Be it faint or strong this mark will itch and cause pain if a vampire/Carpathian is near, acting like a silent alarm at all times.
All characters sired from this line will be psychic/magical in some way. Depending on the generation (how pure the bloodline) they can possess multiple abilities rather than just one. (telepathy & telekinesis for example). In creating a character of this type the following rules MUST apply to play.
1. a cross between human/Carpathian/Mage are extremely rare, and will be expected to have all the features of a half blood Carpathian, and a Mage per the above.
2. The women and men of this type can be converted into a pure blooded Carpathian and still retain their abilities.
3. Carpathian blood (just an exchange for example) will enhance a persons abilities, as well as enhance the drawbacks via their existing Carpathian blood.
4. Shape shifting can only be done by a trained or spelled (having that caste on them) first or second generation mage/DS. A great great great granddaughter of Rhiannon & Xavier for example, cannot shift, or have fangs. (Note the difference between Colby from Dark Secret vs Natayla from Dark Demon.)
5. All Females of this bloodline will feel the affects of their lifemate and cannot be circumvented. The need for them, the desire, and 'pull' will always be there if they are true mates. (no exceptions)
6. At this point no male of this bloodline has been established as having a need for a lifemate.
7. No existing characters from the books can be used in play on this board without permission. A distant descendant/or 'lost' child is permissible, but a child raised by Xavier (the dark mage from Dark Demon) will not be allowed, no direct 'daughters/sons' since they have all been defined. Those are considered cannon characters and can be run by the mods/owner only.
Jaguar (Were)'s:
Acute senses (hearing, sight, smell)
Different scent than humans, under normal scent range
Can't shift as children, takes the Han Vol Dan to do that and then free will afterwards
Affinity to large feline emotions, large felines respond easily to them, Grace, stealth, and ability to camouflage like the feline.
