Welcome to my Holiday Dinnerware Gift Guide!
Whether you're looking for a gift for someone else, or one on your own list, I hope this gallery of beautiful dishes will help you.
There are so many Christmas dinnerware sets
As you're planning for your holiday meals and parties, consider the menu, the number of guests, and the color scheme or theme of your event. Those elements will go a long way to help you choose the right types and number of pieces to add to your dinnerware set, as well as the gift you're looking to give.
And if you're selecting a whole new holiday dinnerware set, you have a wonderful opportunity and a difficult decision. What if you can choose only one!
Tips to Choose a Holiday Dinnerware Gift
For Someone Special, or For Yourself
It can be a challenge to choose a dinnerware gift, but here are some tips:- Use existing holiday dinnerware as a starting point. Can you add a place setting, serving piece or another hard-to-find item to the dinnerware set? Look for the gravy boat, large oval platter, or extra pieces of this favorite set of dishes. A well-used set often suffers damage or loss over time, and you can replace those pieces, or add extras to allow for grandchildren and other new family members.
- Add dishes featuring a favorite holiday motif. How about some snowmen, holly, birds, penguins or trees to bring a holiday spirit? There are lots of beautiful patterns that feature these themes. Look for a set of dessert plates or glassware that are designed to accent the rest of the dinnerware set.
- Complement a year-round china set with holiday colors. Young couples often get a set of china that can be used for many occasions. Are there "holiday" colors in that set that can be used as a basis for some holiday pieces to spice up the set? Green and red, or silver and gold, all go with holiday decorating. Blue is easy to incorporate into winter and snow themes. And white goes with everything!
The holidays are a great reason to try something new, and add something you've been wishing for all year long!

- Myself, I cannot choose just one. I know of people who have several different dinnerware patterns, and they trade them out, or mix and match them.
