** Author's Note: We purchased the original set for our daughter for her first birthday. She loves watching the DVDs' and playing with the slide cards, her vocabulary amazes us still, and she loves the sing along songs. She can recognize many of the words even though we do not use the program on a regular set routine.

When she is 'in the mood' she actually asks to 'watch my words' and we put on one of the DVD's or pull out the flip books and have a little learning fun. I was skeptical about the program and its affecting her 'play' time - but she dictates the schedule and I never 'force feed' the program on her.

I waffled on buying this program because part of me felt it was 'too much - too soon" to teach a baby to read. But, in the end I decided to go for it because in today's society, offering our children opportunities to stay up to date with the learning curve is important so that they are not left behind other children who have been exposed to such learning opportunities.
