Christmas Greeting Photo Card Ideas

One of the most important Christmas traditions is the sending of greeting cards to our friends and family. However, cards available in stores are almost always the same or at least on the same theme.

But this year, you can bank on uniqueness... Indeed, here's an alternative that allow you to customize your Xmas cards and dazzle your family, friends and all relatives' eyes!

What am I talking about? Well, Christmas greeting photo cards of course :) Maybe you have even already sent that type of card to some of your close relatives in the past.

This lens will cover a few different ideas that will help you to make the most out of your photo Christmas cards this year.

Black and White Photos

Christmas Frame Photo Card cardIf you want to opt for a dramatic difference, you can choose to use black and white photo.

Your digital camera is probably equipped with a black and white feature; otherwise, you may choose to use a photo editing software as most of them come with this feature.

If you have no skills to use such features, the store where your cards are made will surely provide this service free of charge.

Have the Whole Family on the Cards

And go for a natural posed photo!

Christmas Kiss cardMost people traditionally just have their kids's photograph on these cards. A good way to keep your kids occupied is to let them participate to this job. Be sure to emphasize the traditional side of the holiday.

For example: wear Santa boots or gloves, use the Christmas tree as background and take a picture of your family making a snowman in the garden or picking pinecones.

You can even take a picture of the whole family when you go shopping for gifts.

Rather than taking the basic posed, pretty photo for the card, you can catch your kids in their natural environment making things they enjoy to do, or have them bring the things that are very important to them so it can show off their true personalities.

Scrapbooking or not Scrapbooking?

That is the question...

Custom Christmas Greeting cardYou might even want to go with the scrapbooking idea...

Select several of your photos and crop them, placing the pics on a sheet of Christmas scrapbook paper and use that as a card. If you do not know how to make this, you can go to a card making store as they have a lot of holiday themes.

You can even make the card more funny even if you have already ordered the standard card, you could easily go down the scrapbooking aisle at the hobby store and buy little things to stick on your cards.

What I like to do is consider who I am sending the card to, and if they appreciate particular things or collect things such as cows, you can take the tiny package of cows that you find and stick one on each corner of the photo in the center of the card.
