I find your story interesting, but as a person who loves the warm weather here in Florida, I can't imagine my living in the snow again.

    Carol:

Wow! We live just 30 minutes north of Eau Claire (in Colfax). And my husband Randy works in Eau Claire.

Having lived in Nebraska most of my life and moving to California in 2001, I can honestly say that I am glad that snowy scene was from your backyard and not mine.
But it is beautiful. Great lens and I love the tie-in with Christmas.

My daughter and her husband live in Platteville, WI (Check out their new natural foods store, the Driftless Market-- http://www.driftlessmarket ) Also, my granddaughter is in her second year of college in Eau Claire; so you can see that I have a special attraction to your Wisconsin and I loved your rural cookbook.

5 stars and a lens roll for a great job with this lens.

Very nice lens and story! living in Wisconsin has been a beautiful experience for a snowy Christmas...that said, after Christmas I wish it would disappear...just too cold for too long...Wisconsin is a beautiful State and reminds me a great deal of Germany...5*

I grew up in rural Minnesota. The Christmas's I remember as a child are a lot different than the Christmas's my kids will tell their children about. I've kept some traditions alive, I still make lefse and rossettes, but so many of the traditions have slid by the wayside. One of them was lutefisk on Christmas eve. I can't say I'm sorry to see that tradition fade away....
    Great lens

What a charming lens! It's so difficult to imagine such cold. Snow is esoteric enough in itself but to have to dig out a tractor is beyond belief. By the way, we sang that song as children 'I am so glad each Christmas Eve, The night of Jesus' birth' but in English, and a long way from Wisconsin and even further away from Norway. 5* for a delightful read and added to my Christmas collection (christmas-at-squidoo)

When I think of Christmas, I think of great old-fashioned traditions. It's important to keep these things alive. Thanks for sharing! * * * * *

We used to have a yard that looked like your yard in the snow. We sold that home a few years ago and I miss. that. What a wonderful Christmas page!
