My daughter is going to Hawaii for the second year in a row. This exotic place of travel has been on my wish list for many years. Why not make this the perfect place for Christmas?

Hawaii is surrounded by the clear blue Pacific Ocean. Relax on the beach or catch a large wave. Hawaii is one of the capital surfing places of the world.

Known for its beautiful sunsets and waterfalls, Hawaii is simply breathtaking. And if you are not surfing or relaxing on the beach, why not swim with the dolphins.

Excellent introduction to the Hawaiian Islands. Spectacular photography and interesting narrative. As a former resident of Hawaii, I feel this video gives a great look at the islands and makes me want to return very soon.

Honolulu City Lights

Beginning Dec. 5th


Honolulu's Christmas celebration begins on Dec. 5th and continues to Dec. 31st. Twenty-five years of Honolulu City Lights is being celebrated in 2009. This Christmas tradition began in 1985 with a single Christmas tree on the grounds of Honolulu Hale (City Hall). Over the years the event has grown into a spectacular celebration with the main focus on a lighted 50-foot Christmas tree. The Christmas lights of Honolulu continue to spread out over a "corridor of Christmas lights" through Chinatown, Downtown, the Capitol District and the Civic Center area.

During this celebration a list of events is included within Honolulu City Lights These events include the lighting of the Cities Christmas tree, Food booths, Keiki rides, concerts, and a display of wreaths and gingerbread houses. This is fun for everyone of all ages.

I fell in love with "Honolulu City Lights" when it was first released in the late 70's and I was living in Hawaii. The vocal talents of Keola and Kapono struck me from the first time I heard them. Over the years, I played this album again and again. Then, true to the times, after purchasing a new stereo without a record player, I could no longer listen to my favorite of all albums. A recent trip to Honolulu renewed my interest and, much to my delight, I found the "Honolulu City Lights" CD. Six weeks later, the CD is still in my car stereo, and I listen to it every day. Twenty years has only increased my love of this album and the beautiful music the Beamer Brothers created. Reviewed by maxgirl1

Oahu has their annual Christmas parade, Nutcracker Ballet, concerts and a two boat parades.

Maui Christmas events include the Lahaina Banyan Tree Lighting Ceremony, the big-name Christmas concert at the Maui Arts and Cultural center.

Christmas on the Big Island offers many concerts, ballets, Kailua-Kona Christmas Parade, and Christmas concerts.
