This was a very difficult choice! Ultimately it came down to A Christmas Story and Christmas Vacation. Both are classics in my family, but I eventually decided the latter is the better of the two in my opinion.

Though I love a lot of these movies for me the one all-time winner is It's a Wonderful Life. There is humour, romance, drama, and the most heartwarming climax ever. I don't think many people have been lucky enough that they have never made George Bailey's wish they had never been born, and we can all use the hope and encouragement this story gives us.

Bill Murray plays TV exec Frank Cross who is so wretched; he demonstrates vulgarity at its finest in this classic "A Christmas Carol" film. The three Ghosts of Christmas are omni-present in Scrooged in their attempt to turn the mean-spirited Frank Cross to a holiday-loving, happy man. Can Bill Murray's wit and the Ghosts of Christmas tackle such an undertaking?

Joyeux Noel

Joyeux Noel
(Widescreen)

Most Christmas movies are based on a fictional imaginative story that relays the meaning of Christmas and good will to all. The story of Joyeux Noel is different in that is based on a true story about how enemies found it in their hearts to lay down their weapons and display a true lesson of humanity. During World War I French, Scottish, and German soldiers had been fighting brutal trench warfare. On one area of the trenches, starting with Christmas carols on Christmas Eve, an unofficial truce had been formed between the officers on both sides. The result was soldiers that had been killing each other joining to wish each other a Merry Christmas, exchange stories, and gifts. Although this movie is not displayed on television as much as other Christmas Movies, it should be. No other story can really match the opening of one's heart during the Christmas season.
