Retro Christmas Party
Play the original shoes on TVs or computers with the volume turned down, run a soundtrack with songs from the old TV Christmas favorites from the 1970s. Play retro board games. Serve old-school cocktails and comfort food.. The blog "Always Order Dessert" has knocked up a fantastic 1960s Cocktail Party, complete with photos, decor, menu and recipes. You can't go wrong with a pineapple brown sugar glazed ham, devilled eggs, aspic or jelly salads, ambrosia and a smoky porcupine cheeseball! Be sure to check it out for ideas on the munchies!! Retro Christmas Inspiration
The Old Classics
Christmas from my youth had a soundtrack from all the Christmas television specials which meant so much in those pre-VCR days! Go back to your youth with retro candy, retro songs and retro decor for your Christmas party. Think of The Grinch Who Stole Christmas, Rudolf The Red-Nosed Reindeer, Frosty The Snowman..
Gingerbread House Building Party
Do you have any bakers or builders coming over to your house for Christmas? Have a building party - a Gingerbread House Building party! Have all the pieces prepared - roofs and walls, have the icing ready and have lots of candies to decorate with. Maybe you could incorporate a contest into it where your guests vote on the best Gingerbread house. Let everyone take home their creations to decorate their house with. Mothers especially would appreciate this one as building a gingerbread house is something we'd all love to do with our kids but don't have the time for. Be sure to take lots of pictures, as this party will create many memories. How do you make a gingerbread house?

Santa's Elves' Company Picnic
Have a company-style 'picnic' party for all your little elves when you combine gift wrapping or charity with your Christmas party. Have other mommies over to your home for a gift wrapping session with some Christmas drinks and sweets. You could also have a kids party where the little ones assemble gift packages and wrap them up to donate to those less-fortunate during the holiday season. You could even do this one with just your own family. Take the opportunity to clean out closets and donate 'like new' items to Charity. Polish up forgotten toys, mend dolls and clothes and package them up nicely for Christmas. This takes care of a couple concerns at the same time: charity, clutter-busting and good family time.. It also instills a good attitude in young minds about reusing items rather than consuming more..
Another idea would be to host a Letters to Santa Party with food you imagine Santa and Mrs. Claus to eat up at the North Pole.
Create An Exciting Atmosphere And Make This A Party
Hand out uniforms and nametags, play seasonal music, create a fun factory atmosphere and kids will look forward to this event every year!

A Ride On The Polar Express
The Polar Express is a great film for little boys and little girls who love trains. Incorporate it into a party when you set up model railroads and have train-inspired Christmas decor. Use 'Polar Express Tickets' for the invitations. If hosting this party, dress up as a train conductor. A few props for your Polar Express Christmas Party
Toy Story 3 Welcome Home.
Christmas is filled with toys if you have kids in your family. There's always the problem of making room for new ones. Toy Story is a favorite with my kids. They want the Toy Story dolls and I've convinced them that we should purchase 2nd hand versions and rescue some dolls that lost their owners. You could have a Toy Story themed party where your kids make sure all their existing toys have good homes to go to at the end of a rough day of play and also get ready new homes for any toys that might be joining the collection this Christmas. Again, this might be more suited to a family party, but it turns a necessary de-cluttering and tidying task into some fun play! Save Woody From eBay

A Nutcracker Party
Tchaikovskey's Nutcracker Suite ballet is another Christmas tradition that can go on to inspire your Christmas party. Of course, you would play the Nutcracker Suite for your soundtrack. Maybe have a few touches of the grinch with little grinch finger or hand decorations sneaking around to steal something. Big hairdos should be encouraged from your guests as well! Christmas in WhoVille
Whoville is a Christmas town. Even after all the decorations have been taken though, they still have cause to celebrate.. Make your own Chistmas in Whoville for your party this year.
