Just a few words about gauge and scale . . .

You can take a look at the diagram below to get an idea of the relative difference in scale. On30 is regarded as the fastest growing gauge/scale combination. It is the most common term used to describe the modelling of narrow gauge railways in O scale on the more narrow HO gauge track.This scale gives the models a certain bulk, and allows details to be easily seen compared with HO scale, while at the same time electrically and mechanically it is the same as the very popular HO scale, ensuring reliability of operation. Models can also round tight radius curves, allowing layouts to be built in confined spaces. Finally, models are cheaper to purchase than those produced for larger scales such as G scale.
