Easy to do and fun craft project

This is a very easy to do fun craft which you can do with your kids. Take frosted glass vase and put the string of lights inside them. Tie the bottom of the vase with a decorative lace or ribbon and place the vase in such a way that the electricity wiring is hidden from the front view.

They look lovely and you can personalize them

They look lovely and they are so simple to make. Use your old coffee mugs or tea cups. Take chalkboard paint in color of your choice. Paint the ceramic with the chalkboard paint. It shows good result with 2-3 coatings and bit of sanding in between coats. Once done, scribble the whole surface with chalk and then wipe it off. Your cup/mug is now ready to be personalized with important messages and 'love you' notes.

Use a voitve or tealight or if you are feeling more crafty, melt the wax and have a candlepot ready for the Holidays!

Burlap Votive Holders

#4 DIY - Burlap Votive Holders

Votives in Burlap!

The glow of the votive through the holes of the burlap gives a soothing effect.

Take used or new glass and using decoupage glue or white glue + water, stick the burlap to the glass. If you do not want to get too sticky, you can simply fasten the two sides of the burlap together using double sided tape.

And if you are feeling more creative, then using acrylic paints, you can draw over the burlap.

#5 DIY - Beaded Votive Holders

These lovely classy votive holders are available on sale on many home decor sites. However they do make a lovely DIY project especially for the holiday season.

Take beads of your choice and thread them in strings. Once done, using glue, stick the strings in circular motion to cover the entire glass surface and you have a beautiful beaded votive just perfect for enhancing your home decor.

These votive holder was made by my sister for Diwali.

This one is again an easy project. For my DIY, I used silver colored yarn avaibale in craft stores. I used white glue to stick the yarn. You can use double sided tape as well.

#7 DIY - Spray Painted Votive Holder

Spray Paint and Lace makes a good votive holder

Spray painted votive holder

This votive holder looks very elegant and classy and it is again an easy DIY project. Take plain glass votive holder of your choice and take a piece of lace. Cover the votive holder with lace using double sided tape. Once the lace is securely in place, use spray paint of your choice. I have used silver color spray paint. Give 2-3 coatings and when you remove the lace, after the spray paint dries, you have a beautiful lace motif on your votive holder.

And when you put a tealight in the votive holder, it simply looks awesome!
