When doing my research for this page, I found a selection of interesting movies that have been available on blu-ray since Christmas 2008 which include films like The Polar Express, Shrek the Halls, The Holiday and Elf. One evening a baby named Buddy manages to crawl into Santa's bag and be taken to Santa's workshop in the North Pole. He is raised to be an elf (even though he is a misfit.) When he decides that he will never 'fit' into the elf world, he sets out to find his real family in New York City. His experiences there are not all pleasant and, once again, he feels like an outsider. It turns out his Dad isn't such a great guy but rather a man who sees only the bottom line. Buddy is lucky though as he also finds his Mom and half-brother. He works hard to convince his family of the joys of Christmas, elves and Santa. A fun Christmas comedy that is rated PG for some mild rude humor and language. An Absolutely Delightful, Totally Bonkers Christmas Movie!

This funny 1990 movie featured Macaulay Culkin as a troubled child who doesn't get on well with his family and who is left behind at Christmas time. When Kevin wakes up his family is gone. He learns many lessons while enjoying his 'freedom' including ones about self-reliance, responsibility and security. The biggest lesson, however, may just have been how wonderful it is to have a family.
This movie received an Academy Award nomination for the best original score.

Chevy Chase in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation on Blu Ray

This movie is number three in the adventures of the Griswold family and the National Lampoon movie series, this is not a traditional holiday classic but a comedy with a happy ending! Clark Griswold decides to stay home and have a wonderful, old-fashioned Christmas but because this is a National Lampoon film, things don't work out well.

I finally caught up with this movie this past summer and I was not disappointed. I'd call it a romantic comedy and an excellent one at that. In this movie, a pair of unhappy women trade houses to try to get over their 'man' troubles. One lives in a quaint cottage in Surrey (England) and the other lives in a Beverly Hills mansion. Another fabulously decorated movie with romantic wishes coming true. Sounded charming and it was.

Fred Claus Blu-ray ~~ Fun Holiday Cheer For The Whole Family
Featuring Vince Vaughn, Paul Giamatti, Miranda Richardson, Elizabeth Banks
Elastic Pop's review leaves you with a lukewarm feeling about the plot and it sounds like this is an entertaining movie but not a great movie. However, the reviewer praises the visuals saying it looks 'quite good.' It includes high definition extras including featurettes that look behind-the-scenes, a discussion of famous brothers, a rap-music video and more.

- Fred Claus arrives on Blu-ray with a strong 1080p/VC-1 encode framed at a wide 2:40:1 that is very dimensional, natural looking, and overall pleasing to watch. Colors really pop on this disc, not just the reds), but the other primary colors as well. Overall I found the picture quality quite good, and a fine example of blu-ray technology.
Jeff Dunham's Very Special Christmas Special on Blu-ray
Comedian and ventriloquist Jeff Dunham and cast make Christmas special and funny as only they can! Dunham has been around for the past twenty years with his misfits or dummies and has appeared on shows like The Tonight Show.
On this blu-ray disc, you can enjoy Dunham's talents and his cast of characters being witty and celebrating Christmas in their own unique way. Jeff's comedy includes many styles and is very entertaining. Not a classic Christmas special but a funny film that is a bit politically incorrect. Like one of Dunham's characters, Achmed, the not so accomplished, dead terrorist said, "Being politically correct is a pain in the..."
