Christmas Crochet Dishcloths

The Great Thing About Crochet Dishcloths

I found out about this great idea on my wedding day almost 20 years ago. I received a few dishcloths(they weren't Christmas ones) along with some kitchen towels as a gift. I had NO idea people used crocheted dishcloths to do dishes. I saw an occasional hot pad or two at my grandmother's house, but I never saw a crocheted dishcloth until then. It sparked my creativity and not only that, but I started making them for our little nest as well as giving them as gifts. They are SO FUN!! And they REALLY do a good job with getting dishes clean as well as you know they are going to last longer because YOU made them to last!:) These are great gifts especially around Christmas Time because one thing I know in my family's house around the holidays there are LOTS of dishes to be washed. And I mean LOTS! So, when you are doing dishes and have a few crocheted Christmas dishcloths around, it makes the holidays seem more decorative and brighter. I don't know why, but they just DO. I like to use the Sugar n' Cream yarn that you can get either at your local Wal-Mart or any craft store. It has the look and feel of a normal dishcloth. You can probably use Red Heart Yarn; I have seen it done but I really like the Sugar n'Cream yarn the best. The choice is YOURS!

I will have to make some of these. Sounds like a good project for left over bits and pieces of crochet thread.

And what's great about them too is that you can make them for any season. They are great to scrub dishes with and are not hard on them at all. Thanks for posting!

Crocheted dish cloths are always a welcome gift for Christmas or any day and they hold up nicely as well as doing a great job on the dishes. Another benefit is that they seem to dry rather quickly.

When I was hospitalized during my last pregnancy my roommate passed the time making crocheted dish cloths. I had never seen one before that. When she was discharged, she gave me a couple of them and I used them for years.Thank you for the instructions. Wonderful lens.
