Frosty the Snowman
Why did Frosty pause?
Because the cop said to.
"He led them down the streets of town
right to the traffic cop
And he only paused a moment when
he heard him holler "Stop!"
Jingle Bells
"A day or two ago, I thought I'd take a ride
And soon Miss Fanny Bright, was seated by my side;
The horse was lean and lank, misfortune seemed his lot;
He got into a drifted bank and then we got upsot"
At the end of the second verse of "Jingle Bells" what does the word upsot mean?
Tipped over or drunk could be correct.
An archaic past ptp. of upset, in this instance meaning "capsized", but was also slang for "drunk or intoxicated", perhaps by association with the British term "sot" (drunkard)
Jolly Ole St. Nicholas
What does Johnny, Suzy and Nellie want for Christmas?
"Johnny wants a pair of skates;
Suzy wants a sled;
Nellie wants a storybook; Yellow, Blue and Red
(There are other variations but hey it's my Christmas song quiz so I get to choose)
Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer
In the song "Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer" what was she drinking?
Eggnog of course!
"She'd been drinkin' too much egg nog,
And we'd begged her not to go.
But she'd left her medication,
So she stumbled out the door into the snow"
Up On The Housetop
The second verse of "Up on the Housetop" begins with "First come the stocking of little _______"
Nell
"First comes the stocking
Of little Nell
Oh, dear Santa
Fill it well
Give her a dolly
That laughs and cries
One that will open
And shut her eyes"
Deck the Halls
What instrument is mentioned in "Deck the Halls"?
Harp!
"See the blazing Yule before us,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.
Strike the harp and join the chorus.
Fa la la la la, la la la la."
Hallelujah Chorus
In the "Hallelujah Chorus" how many times is the word Hallelujah sung?
Not 126, 104, or 73.
The Answer is: 51, at least in the lyrics I counted.
Mr. Grinch
Finish this line... You're as cuddly as a cactus, you're as charming as ________
An eel
"You're a mean one, Mr. Grinch
You really are a heel,
You're as cuddly as a cactus, you're as charming as an eel, Mr. Grinch,
You're a bad banana with a greasy black peel!"
Rudolf the Red-nosed Reindeer
What kind of games didn't they let Rudolf play?
Reindeer games what else!
"All of the other reindeer
used to laugh and call him names.
They never let poor Rudolf
play in any reindeer games."
