How Many Ways Can I Count My Christmas Tree Lighting Options?
Wow, have you been to the holiday section of the nearest store? There are so many ways to light your tree! How in the world are you going to decide what to use?
There are ceramic Christmas tree lights, bubble lights, twinkle, crystal cut and button lights, lights that stay on and lights that flash, rope lights that chase, big lights and little lights, and don't forget the ever popular basic, small colored or clear lights.
And now, there are LED Christmas lights - these are 90% more energy efficient than traditional Christmas tree lights. Whew!
Depending on the theme of your tree and all of your Christmas decorations, you can make a good decision of what will look best. Is your home going to be decorated in a subtle, stylish manner? Stick with lights that are on the small side and plain or maybe crystal cut.
Chasing and flashing lights probably won't fit in, but twinkling lights or those that stay on will. What if you're going for a retro look? Use the back-in-vogue large ceramic lights. For an old-fashioned Christmas, try bubble lights, and for a fun and super festive look, use twinkling, flashing or chasing lights.
What a lot of choices! As the centerpiece of your holiday decorations, make sure your Christmas tree lights will reflect your style and enhance your enjoyment of the season.

Does Your Christmas Tree Light Up the Neighborhood?
There is nothing more cheerful than a lighted Christmas tree in your yard. It welcomes you home after a long day at work and greets friends when they stop by for eggnog. You can string lights in any of your trees or shrubs, but the most cheerful are the Christmas tree shaped pine, spruce, and fir trees that make us think of the decorated Christmas trees in our homes. If you have these kinds of trees growing in your yard, you can string lights on them. But be careful! There's nothing worse that climbing up a ladder in the cold to string lights on a 30' tall tree.
If your trees are too big, consider placing a group of artificial Christmas trees in your yard and stringing lights on them. This is a great idea, because you can position the trees in an artistic and welcoming way, and you don't have to risk your neck climbing.
Decide whether you will use multi-colored lights or all one color, flashing or not. All are beautiful, but they create different moods. Multi-color lights and flashing or chasing lights are fun and snappy.
Single colors and lights that don't flash or chase create a more elegant look. Elegant or fun loving, a lighted Christmas tree in your yard is a sure way to help make everyone's season bright!

Christmas Tree Trimming Tips
A Christmas tree without lights is unheard of. The tree just has to have lights! But stringing the lights on your tree can be a real pain in the neck. Branches get broken, the wires are visible, and you have a bunch of lights in one spot and none in another. How can you get the Christmas lights on the tree with minimal frustration, and what looks best? Here's how to do it:
If you have a real tree, be careful not to break the branches when stringing the lights. Easier said than done, yes. Get your lights together, plug the first string in and start at the bottom.
Carefully push the string into the tree about halfway to the trunk and lay the lights on the branches. Continue around the tree until the string is done and plug the next one into it. Continue the process until you've reached the top.
This helps to hide the wires, and makes the tree appear to glow from within, and because you've had the lights plugged in, you've been able to judge how the distribution of light is.
Some people like the look of matching the lights to the tree, for example, using white lights on a flocked tree, or green on a green tree. This creates a simple and elegant look. You can also opt for decorated Christmas trees with multi colored lights or contrasting lights, which are equally beautiful.
