An Intriguing Combination of Religious Ideas
My main reason for not joining is that my own beliefs have been so ingrained that I don't feel comfortable parting with them.
Finding Christo-Paganism might just be what I was looking for but I'll need to do some homework first.
I've ordered the book, ChristoPaganism: An Inclusive Path, which was written by River Higginbotham and Joyce Higginbotham so that I may study about this combination of Christianity, Islam and Paganism a bit more. I'll be sharing a review here after I've finished.
I've created this page to help me keep track of everything I find on the subject of ChristoPaganism, including links to articles, ChristoPagan websites, and books.
Please feel free to share my journey of discovery along with your own thoughts about Christian Paganism here on this page. Together we can learn a lot..

Anita says:
There are may similarities that together encompass a larger love. Jesus becoming human and dieing and raising up from death just to keep a relationship between himself and us is amazing and often limited by the doctrine of the earthly church. Adding in the inclusiveness of paganism and mingling the similarities expands the love, the doing no ham, the ability to forgive, etc.

NanLT says:
The beliefs found in Paganism and the teachings of Jesus of Nazareth have more similarities than differences. Witchcraft isn't Paganism or even Wicca, but I have known several Christian witches, a couple Jewish witches, and loads of atheist witches. This is because witchcraft is a craft, not a religion.

Linking Jesus and Paganism
Where does Jesus Fit Into All of This
So far, this is what I've learned.
In ChristoPaganism, Jesus is considered to be an additional Diety. I suppose that isn't all that different from my Christian teachings of Father, Son and Holy Spirit but I'll need to learn more before I can make any strong decisions either way on this.
The following are links to articles I found online that discuss Jesus and Paganism.

- In this section, we will investigate the alleged similarities between Jesus and other deities which leave critics speculating aspects of Jesus' life were borrowed from other figures of antiquity. - Interesting reading. While doing your studies, you might also venture into some of the beliefs of Buddhism, specifically that of the bodhisattva - those souls who have reached a stage where they no longer need to be reborn (reincarnation) but choose to come back in order to help other people reach enlightenment. It is my belief, within my Pagan beliefs, that Jesus was a bodhisattva.
