Christopher and Dana Reeve - A Super Couple - A Super Foundation
Anyone around in 1978 remembers Christopher Reeve emerging on the film screen as the ultimate Superman and as a SuperHero. Yet for me, I think his true SuperHero status happened years later. I would like to introduce my SuperHeroes...Christopher Reeve and his wife Dana.
The image of Christopher Reeve as Superman is one that has been indelibly etched for me...particularly in light of the tragic riding accident in 1995. In just a few minutes this talented actor and "Man of Steel" became a ventilator-dependent quadriplegic for the last decade of his life. The way he continued to live his life and the lived their live as a couple with grace, dignity, courage and strength, truly classifies him as a hero.
I wonder, when I think about his circumstances, if I would have had the strength and the courage to continue on and live as full of a life as he did or become a loving and giving caregiver the way that she did.
I would like to think that faced with similar circumstances I would have found the courage to rise above the adversity and thrive.

- I miss Christopher Reeve. He was such a big part of my life with the Superman movies. I was so sad when he had his accident, yet he proved to be much more of a hero with his work to cure spinal cord injuries. Now he is flying free with Dana at his side.

- I was really inspired by your presentation. It was beautiful through it I was able to somewhat connect to the mission. I thoroughly enjoyed it. As for suggestions I think you could invite other people to share what he meant to them and talk a bit more about some of what he did. Beautiful!
