Top 10 Google Chrome Extensions

Ranked #10,781 in Computers & Electronics, #226,898 overall

After browsing Chrome's extensions library, I decided to compile a list of some of the better ones I came across.

As with all "best of" lists, you may not agree with some of my decisions. But hopefully you will at least pick up a few that will change your Chrome browsing experience for the better.

The Top 10 List

  • Xmarks- Previously Foxmarks, Xmarks is a bookmark syncing exntension. If you use more than one computer, it's a great way to keep all of your bookmarks in one place so you never lose a site.

  • AdBlock- Blocks ads over the web and speeds up the browser. How can you not get this?

  • RSS Subscription Extension- Amazing little tool when used alongside Google Reader. Allows you to add any RSS feed to a folder of your choosing, which keeps everything organized!

  • Feedly- Feedly organizes all of your subscribed content into an easily readable magazine-like startpage. Stylish and user friendly! It supports Google Reader, Twitter, Delicious, YouTube, and Amazon.

  • Dust Theme- Simple and attractive. Gets rid of blue borders and makes Chrome more bearable to look at.

  • ChromeMUSE- Easily shorten your URLs with various url shortening service providers, write on the Chrome toolbar!

  • The Camelizer- Keeps track of prices on popular shopping websites. Supporting Newegg = major plus!

  • Cooliris- If you're bored of the monotony of searching the web, try out Cooliris. It displays your media-related search results on a scrollable 3D wall.

  • LastPass- Keeps all of your passwords in document for easy access. It's all done client-side, so no one has access to your file. Great extension if you have multiple accounts to various sites, such as Squidoo, GMail, etc.

  • Ultimate Google Docs Viewer- Allows you to view doc, docx, pdf, ppt, pps files with Google Docs Viewer and directly download the files to your computer.

  • As you can see, I tried to add a little variety to the list. While some extensions may improve your productivity, others are there to break the monotony and show a little innovation. Either way, there's bound to be a couple that you will find hard to live without.

If you wish, you can add your favorite extension to the list below and vote on what others have shared.
