Although not the first book CS Lewis wrote in the series, it is the beginning of Narnia. Have you ever wondered where Narnia came from, where the white witch came from or how it all began? Mostly, why is there a lamp post in the middle of the forest?All these questions and more are answered in the Magician's Nephew. A wonderful story of a boy and a girl who discover friendship and a wonderful place called Narnia. Through their adventures the white witch finds her way into our world and into Narnia. Can they escape her anger and her wrath?
This is my son's favorite book of the series as it explains a lot about the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe. He also liked knowing something his friends didn't, I think he felt smarter.

The Horse and His Boy
This is my favorite book. Although Peter, Edmond, Susan and Lucy make an appearance the story is not about them at all, but a young abused boy, an arabian princess, a horses. Introduces the readers to the land outside of Narnia.

Prince Caspians reign spans three books, this is the first of the three. He is the only other ruler of Narnia that has a prominate role in the series.

There are plenty of websites out there telling the synopsis of the movie, or you could read the book yourself, so I won't bother describing the story here ;) For the ones who wonder, YES, it is the White Witch inside the ice prison. Don't worry, this part IS in the book. (although SHE doesn't really appear, the idea is the same)

These CDs are wonderful to listen to as the voice actors tell the story in true old fashion radio theater style.Great for long trips, it makes the time fly by faster as you are engrossed in the story. Each story lasts about 4 hours. Whether you listen together in the car or before bed, these magical tales will entrance the listener into the world of Narnia.
Narrated by CS Lewis's stepson it provides insight into each story and their author. This personal touch makes it extra special to listen to and brings one closer into the Narnia world.
